So I think you saw the title of this post and are wondering what is going on. So at the beginning of 2026, I will be dropping the Hippo moniker and instead reverting to using my IRL DJ name SLOTHBEAR for this blog and for the Discord. The change will go into effect on January 3rd, 2026, as I will be in Memphis with the UC Band on New Year's Day for the Liberty Bowl the following day, and January 3rd is when I will be getting back home. Additionally, I will be changing the font and colors I use. All this is to keep this blog fresh and increase my chances of getting posts out on time. Anyways, on to this week, pretty standard for this time of year. Let's just get into it, here is our one exit: Leon Thomas- Mutt (#25 last week) Countdown: 30. Justin Bieber- Yukon (-2) 29. Jessie Murph- I'm Not There For You (-2) 28. Tyla- Chanel (+2) 27. Role Model- Writing's On The Wall (Debut) 26. Meghan Trainor- Still Don't Care (=) 25. Madison Beer- Bittersweet (-3) 24. My top 30 songs of 2025

Image
Hello everyone, this is my top 30 songs of 2025. Once again, this will follow the same criteria as my previous best lists. Let's get into it. 30. Alex Warren/ Jelly Roll- Bloodline So we're starting off with the first of two Alex Warren songs on here, and this one is rather fun. He compared this to an Avicii song when it came out, and I can definitely see that, and both of them sound pretty good over this production. I feel like this could have used an Avicii style drop, but it's fine, everything about this works. 29. Morgan Wallen/ Lil Wayne/ Rick Ross- Miami Ok, I doubt I should like this. The original to this was on Morgan Wallen's album I'm The Problem, and it's about a trip to Miami he took where he hooked up with some girl down there, but then he makes it known in the hook that he doesn't like Miami as much as he does Nashville. Fast forward to two months later, we get this version with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross. As I've made it known with Broadway...

Finally (sort of) on time (Week of 12/13/2025)

Well, look at this, I'm finally not a week late. I feel like the fact of 2025 being almost done, me having more time, and my worst list being out (go check that out if you haven't already) gave me more motivation to do it today. I should also be putting out my best list sometime next week. Anyways, let's get into it, here are our exits: AJR- The Big Goodbye (#19 last week) Doja Cat- Jealous Type (#20 last week) Countdown: 30. Tyla- Chanel (Debut) 29. Sienna Spiro- Die On This Hill (-1) 28. Justin Bieber- Yukon (-1) 27. Jessie Murph- I'm Not There For You (+3) 26. Meghan Trainor- Still Don't Care (+3) 25. Leon Thomas- Mutt (-2) 24. Tate McRae- Tit For Tat (+2) 23. Benson Boone- Mr Electric Blue (Debut) 22. Madison Beer- Bittersweet (+2) 21. Kevin Jonas- Changing (+4) 20. Sophia James- So Unfair (-2) 19. Charlie Puth- Changes (+2) 18. Laufey- Lover Girl (-2) 17. Ed Sheeran- Camera (=) 16. Alessi Rose- First Original Thought (+6) 15. David Guetta/ Teddy Swims/ Tones ...

My top 10 worst songs of 2025

As promised, here is my top 10 worst songs of 2025. Once again, this will follow the same criteria as my previous worst lists. Let's just get into it. 10. Brenn- Franklin House Serious question, does anyone still even remember this? I honestly did, until I was looking back through previous posts for songs to put on here. So yeah, this is pure ass. It's really slow and boring, Brenn's voice sounds way too haunted, and the lyric "I will survive, but I'll never recover" makes this more depressing than it should be as this seems to be about a brutal breakup. Not to mention this feels way to long for what it is. Also, not about the song, but about the artist, why is there a goddamn exclamation mark at the end of his name? That makes less sense than when Oliver Anthony Music putting the word music at the end of his stage name. 9. Max McNown- A Lot More Free Here's something else from the beginning of 2025 that you guys probably forgot about. And as of when I...
