2021 Countdown Extras rankdown (Complete)
Hello and welcome to the 2021 countdown extras rankdown. Over the next few weeks, we will be taking all 52 countdown extras from 2021 and ranking them as a community. If you don't know what a countdown extra is, it's a random song from that weekend's episode of hitbound that plays in between #16 and #15 (and it also used to air between #31 and #30 back when the countdown had 45 songs) The list of countdown extras is always completely random, from small hits, to big hits and hitbound dropouts. If this is your first rankdown, here are the rules:
Rank the songs from 52 to 1, with 52 being your least favorite and 1 being your favorite
Don't be a jerk by ranking songs higher or lower to sabotage their performance (there will likely be a couple of times where you guys will feel as though I violated that rule, but everything is 100% my honest opinion, also I will explain why I ranked everything where I did.)

Ok I did not expect this to come in last, however, looking back, this did not come together really well. I do like Kali Uchis' verse, so that saves the song from being worse.

I personally had no major issues with this, it was just not that memorable. Plus, while this was on Hitbound, She and Lil Wayne released a much better song called "Ain't Got Time."
Except for Daniel and myself, we once again all lose bottom 10 songs. Also, Beluga and Dom both get perfect rankings.

Yeah I can tell I'm the only one who likes this. This was kind of fun. I personally like Oliver Tree's voice here, and the production is kind of cool too.
Except for me, everyone loses more bottom 10s, with Daniel losing his #52. Also, Anonymous Grande Fan and Dom get perfect rankings, with Dom getting his second and AGF getting their first.

I generally like reggaeton, but this is not for me. She sounds fine, but it's a bit too slow. Why can't Hits 1 pick up on actual reggaeton, though.

WOW. I can't say I did not see this coming, but I'm definitely disappointed by this. I really enjoyed this song, I felt it was a great introduction to Walker Hayes, and I later liked U Gurl and AA, the former of which I am apparently the only one that likes. I did not like Delorean as much, though.
I sadly lose my first top 10, and with the exceptions of My10Baby and Trey, everyone else clears yet more bottom 10s, with Beluga, Dom, and Waffle all losing their #52s. I'm off to a rough start here.

Yeah so this is the first of two songs on here that I would find better remixed, as in an EDM remix of it, because while the melodies are solid, the production has very little going on in it.
So this is the only song in the entire rankdown with both a #1 and a #52 ranking, as Anonymous Grande Fan is now the first of us to lose their #1, and Trey becomes the fifth of us to lose his #52. Beluga, Dom, and Ass It Was Hater also lose more bottom 10s, leaving AIWH with only three remaining.

Bruh how did this flop as much as it did? This is such a banger, probably my second favorite one to watch falling short to Wanna Be. I think Sueco's accent goes really with pop punk here. Also, I later listened to his song "Story Of My Life" with Illennium and Trippie Redd, and that was just as good.
Dom and AGF clear more bottom 10 songs, and Waffle gets his first perfect ranking.

The quality of Dixie's music has been going downhill since last summer when she put out two songs with unoriginal titles, and F***boy by Brakence and Psycho by Post Malone and Ty Dolla Sign were both better than the Dixie songs of the same name as them. Now we have this... and it's not good. It did not come together well at all and the production was just weird.
Daniel and I both lose more bottom 10s and My10Baby loses their first top 10. Also, both Waffle and Beluga get more perfect rankings.

Meanwhile, Ass It Was Hater and My10Baby clear more bottom 10 songs, with AIWH clearing his bottom 10 entirely.

I generally don't like ballads, but I really liked this one. The production evolved very well and Benson Boone sounded amazing. I think this was a great introduction to Benson Boone. This went farther than I expected, so I'm not complaining too much.
Waffle and Zestpond both clear their bottom 10s entirely, with Zestpond losing his #52, this leaves My10Baby and myself as the only ones still with #52s in the game. Meanwhile, Trey, Daniel, and I all lose more top 10s, at least we're now in the top 25 I guess...

This song was really catchy all the way and Both Rivers Cuomo and Jack Met sounded great. Also, I saw the Hella Mega Tour, and Weezer performed this during their set, but did not bring out AJR however.

So this song has not aged super well because of these guys being accused of sexual assault last year. However, this song is still an enjoyable listen. Alex Gaskarth sounded great, and the pop punk production was really fun. Anyways, this is good, but nowhere near as good as The Business, mainly because Tiesto doesn't actually rap here. But I still sing along in a Tiesto accent while listening to this (or any of his songs). So before you guys tell me it was some dude named James Bell who did the vocals on The Business, I should let you know that Tiesto doing the vocals himself and using his real voice is a much more believable story than him finding some dude on the street and pitching down that dude's vocals.
So aside from Dom and Beluga, everyone has now cleared their top 10, with Trey and Waffle getting perfect rankings.

I Hate U-It started out alright, until I really realized how toxic the writing was, also why do I wanna call this song I Love U LMFAO.
AOK-I loved this one, and I wish it could’ve done better. The remix with 24Kgoldn is amazing also.
Transparentsoul-Really solid song, but why is the title written all weird? I will never understand that.
Girl from rio-This was a very good first impression of Anitta, I especially loved the DaBaby remix when they started playing it.
Girls like us-Zoe Wees is a good singer, but this is super forgettable. I almost forgot what it sounded like.

ReplyDeleteNot to mention it won Beluga's Hitbound dropouts rankdown earlier this year, even though Lean On Me was declared the winner due to The Motto re-entering hitbound and subsequently debuting the countdown
