Giant Rooks- Mind Control
Maria Sur- Dance Alone
Our first debut comes from Alex Warren, this is Burning Down. I'm gonna be honest, this has definitely grown on me since I first talked about it, and I quite like this. Alex Warren sounds quite good per usual and I like the beat and melodies that this has. Great song from him.
Our other two debuts are pulling Sunday Bests this week. First, we have Mantra by Jennie. I still think this kinda slaps. The beat here is super cool and Jennie sounds pretty good here. Fun song, better than some of Lisa's solo songs and even APT to a certain extent.
Lastly, we have Sailor Song by Gigi Perez. This has been doing well on streaming lately as well as on the hot 100. And I think this is pretty good. The hook here is super interesting and so is the production, and Gigi Perez sounds pretty good. So I think liking this could be a guilty pleasure for me.
Hitbound (not including Sunday Bests):
Myles Smith- Wait For You
Griff- Last Night's Mascara (Debut)
Lawrence- Whatcha Want
Gracie Abrams- That's So True
Akon- Beautiful Day
Jessie Murph- Sip
Jawsh 685/ Jason Derulo- Make Me Happy
Almost Monday- Can't Slow Down
Myles Smith- Nice To Meet You (Debut)
Dasha- Bye Bye Bye
Henry Moodie- Good Old Days
Halsey- Panic Attack
Hayes Warner- Zip
Balu Brigada- So Cold
Up first, we have Griff making her Hits 1 debut with Last Night's Mascara. I honestly dig this. The beat and melodies here just work well and Griff sounds pretty good here. Quite a good song.
Our other debut comes from Myles Smith, this is called Nice To Meet You. This has got to be
among his better songs. The beat is similar to that of Stargazing and it is a key that makes a whole lot of sense for this type of song and it has super positive lyrics about meeting someone in a club/ bar. Great song.
We lost Sao Paulo. Again, I expected this to be better, so I'm not at all upset about this leaving.
Blurbs:
Our exits were The Emptiness Machine, Austin, and Love Somebody. The Emptiness Machine once again got robbed and should have lasted a bit longer, whereas Austin lasted too long and I'm relieved that shit is finally out of here. I'm not sure if Love Somebody is gone for good or not, hopefully it re-enters.
I'm His He's Mine is at the bottom of the countdown. Get this weirdness out of here next week.
Good to see Forever Young jumping off its debut.
Unfortunately, so did So High School. I'd rather this not be a hit.
Pretty stable top 10. Birds Of A Feather held on to #1 again. I'm surprised it held on for this long.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
