Finally (sort of) on time (Week of 12/13/2025)
Well, look at this, I'm finally not a week late. I feel like the fact of 2025 being almost done, me having more time, and my worst list being out (go check that out if you haven't already) gave me more motivation to do it today. I should also be putting out my best list sometime next week. Anyways, let's get into it, here are our exits:
AJR- The Big Goodbye (#19 last week)
Doja Cat- Jealous Type (#20 last week)

Recommendations For Hits 1: Becky G- Hablamos Manana and David Kushner- Bittersweet Dreams
Our first debut this week is Chanel by Tyla. This is yet another fun song from her. The beat here is really cool and Tyla once again sounds pretty good. I also like the background vocals from whoever is doing those. I hope this has at least a little bit of success here.
Ok... so it's been almost six months since I last talked about this song after it debuted HB, but just now made its way on to the countdown, Mr Electric Blue by Benson Boone. This is apparently about his dad, and let's be real, this is better than what he put out about his mom last month. The beat here is solid and Benson Boone sounds good per usual, though I'm not entirely feeling this yet, even after six months. I'm also not sure how long it will last given how long ago it was on HB...
Hitbound:
Lewis Capaldi- The Day That I Die
Freya Skye- Silent Treatment
Olivia Dean- So Easy (To Fall In Love)
Role Model- Writing's On The Wall
Alex Warren/ Gigi Perez- Eternity
Katy Perry- Bandaids
Izzy Escobar- Jackie O (Debut)
Tate McRae- Nobody's Girl
Tame Impala- Dracula
Alessi Rose- Get Around
In Color- Headlights
Charli XCX- Chains Of Love
The Kid Laroi- A Perfect World
Max/ Andy Grammer- The Thing I Love
Jessie Murph- I Stay I Leave I Love I Lose
5 Seconds Of Summer- Everyone's A Star
Well, I only have one HB debut to talk about, and it's actually something I heard on Daniel's HOTF show last month. This is Jackie O by Izzy Escobar, and I actually kind of like this one. This has a pretty good beat and Izzy Escobar sounds pretty good, and the lyrics are interesting, where she compares herself to JFK's first lady and her crush to JFK. So yeah, glad this eventually made its way to Hits 1.
No dropouts this week, that's a relief to say.
Blurbs:
Our exits were The Big Goodbye and Jealous Type. I liked both of these and I think they had long enough runs, although I was not getting tired of either of them and they probably should have peaked higher than they did.
Definitely a good thing that Changing is starting to have success.
Can First Original Thought have... well... an original thought on where to stay?
Oh thank god, Tears is starting to be on its way out. For context, It's been about two years since we last had a week without a Sabrina Carpenter song on the countdown.
Great to see Vodka Cranberry back in the top 10.
Looks like Golden is starting to make its way out.
And The Fate Of Ophelia is still #1, with Where Is My Husband right behind it at #2. Hopefully, the lesser predictable event occurs (Where Is My Husband being #1, in case you guys haven't figured it out).
I guess that does it for me today, see you guys in my next post.
