My Favorite Song Two Years Ago: Dababy/ Roddy Ricch- Rockstar
#1 Recommendations for Hits 1: Lil Nas X/ NBA Youngboy- Late To Da Party and Masked Wolf/ All Time Low- Jenny I'm Sorry

We have two debuts this week, starting with the new One to Watch, I Feel Everything by Amelia Moore. This is Fine, the production is kind of cool, and she sounds like a cross between Tate Mcrae and Ariana Grande. I actually predicted this would be the next One to Watch in a countdown post a few weeks ago, and I was right. I will happily take this over 10 Things I Hate About You.

Our other debut is I Love U by The Chainsmokers. I really like this one, but not necessarily as much as Trey does. I think Drew Taggart sounds great throughout, and the production is really catchy. Unfortunately, I don't see this lasting because it was not on the survey I did, but I'll take anything at this point.

Hitbound (not including Sunday Bests)
Muni Long/ Saweetie- Baby Boo
Dove Cameron- Breakfast (Debut)
Aespa- Life's Too Short (Debut)
Charlie Puth/ Jungkook- Left And Right (Debut)
Tai Verdes- She Luv Me (Debut)
Dixie- A Letter To Me
Ashe- Angry Woman (Debut)
Conan Gray- Disaster (Debut)
Black Eyed Peas/ Shakira/ David Guetta- Don't You Worry
Taylor Swift- Carolina (Debut)
Leah Kate- Twinkle Twinkle Little B**** (Debut)
Joji- Glimpse Of Us
Nessa Barrett- Die First (Debut)
Saucy Santana/ Latto- Booty
Charlotte Sands- Dress

So up first, we have Dove Cameron's new song Breakfast. This is good. The production is great, probably better than in Boyfriend, and she sounds fine, but I don't like the lyric "I eat boys like you for breakfast." That does not make any sense at all. But whatever.

Ok, next up, we have kind of a guilty pleasure for me, Life's Too Short by Kpop girl group Aespa (I don't know how to pronounce that). I don't generally like Kpop (looking at you BTS) but this is kind of great. Everyone here sounds great throughout, especially since they are singing in English here (I only understand lyrics that are in English or Spanish), and the production is really cool. Overall, such a vibe that I was not expecting to like.

Speaking of Kpop, up next is a collaboration between Charlie Puth and BTS member Junkook called Left And Right. This is super fun. Charlie Puth and Jungkook's voices mix really well together and the production is fun. Also, just like the Aespa members in the previous song, Jungkook sings in English here so I can understand what he is saying. I would be totally fine with this being a hit.

Tai Verdes brings us another song this week, this is called She Luv Me, and this might be one of his better songs. I've always liked his accent, and here is no exception. Also, I enjoy the production here. Nothing else to say here, just a great Tai Verdes song.

So Ashe announced a new album called Rae last week, and today, we get a new song off that album called Angry Woman. This is pretty cool, I like the pop punk type production here (I know it's not Barker, it's someone named Big Taste). Whatever. I don't necessarily see this doing well on here, but I would actually like to see an Ashe/ Barker collab in the future.

And speaking of songs that sound like they are produced by Barker but are actually produced by someone I have never heard of before, Disaster by Conan Gray is here. Again, I enjoy the production here, and Conan sounds good throughout. This is actually the first time I liked a Conan Gray song since Overdrive last year.

Did we seriously need more Taylor Swift here? So I find Taylor Swift extremely overrated, and I hated everything off all re-recordings of her albums (especially Run from late last year, mainly because it was way too slow and Becky Hill and Galantis had a much better and more upbeat song with the same title a few months later) and the only song of hers I ever liked was Me with Panic At The Disco in 2019. Now for this. It's really bad. No Zestpond, I would not consider this any type of church hymn unlike Glimpse Of Us, because there is something going on in the production. But this is Taylor Swift, so it is bad. Also, I do not like that this was played immeadiately after Don't You Worry on Hitbound I really hope this flops hard.

Honest confession: I was not looking forward to more Leah Kate on Hits 1 after how much I hated 10 Things I Hate About You, but... I actually like this new one, Twinkle Twinkle Little B****, really enough that the only potential future song of hers that could top this would be a collab with MGK. The chorus is much catchier than that of 10TIHAY and it is more interesting to listen to, and the song is in Bb major, and I think I've mentioned I'm guaranteed to like songs in that key (except Late Night Talking). Also, the production is extremely cool here, and the writing throughout is more interesting than any other breakup song I have ever heard. I just knew she was capable of better than 10TIHAY. I hope this becomes a hit.

And spaking of artists whom I hated one song from, but I find their other Hits 1 appearances good or great, our final song is Die First by Nessa Barrett. I did not like I Hope Ur Miserable Until Ur Dead from last year, but I liked La Di Die and Dying On The Inside. This new song is kind of interesting. The production is cool, and she sounds great here. It's not all that memorable. I might need more listens to this to fully decide my opinion.

We lost Want Want, Until I Found You, Only You, Falling Back, and Grrrls. The first two are in the abyss, so hopefully I can see them on the countdown. I never expected Only You to debut even though I liked it quite a bit, I liked Falling Back, but the actual single from the album is in the abyss now, and Grrrls was good but ultimately kind of forgettable.

Blurbs
Our exits were Skin Of My Teeth and Skyline. Skin Of My Teeth was never too memorable, and I think Skyline had a good run here, especially since it came out the same day as Maybe You're The Problem, Brisa, and a few better songs.

Why is Jiggle Jiggle flopping? It was not even on the survey I did and this bothers me.

On a better note, Viva Las Vengeance fell two spots. Good. This can't do well here.

Devil Doesn't Bargain got a nice 3 spot jump off its debut last week.

I'm surprised Numb Little Bug is still here, but this is definitely its last week.

Good to see First Class rebounding

Even better to see Potion jumping five spots off its re-entry last week. I'm glad this got a second chance.

I expect Sweetest Pie to be gone next week, it's starting to fade on me.

Random shoutout to HrishK Music for inspiring me to start calling Late Night Talking "Late Night Toppling."

About Damn Time lost whatever shot it had at dethroning Ass It Was, which is completely wrong since the last time a black woman ever hit #1 was in 2012, the last time a black woman hit #1 as the lead artist was in 2011, and no black woman has ever hit #1 solo. This is completely inexcusable. To quote Beluga, "F*** you Hits 1, do better."

But on a better note, 2 Step and Sunroof are now at #3 and #2 respectively, and I actually like both of them more than ADT, so it all balances out.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
