And with that, ladies and gentlemen, history has been made this week (Week of 7/30/2022)

Hello everyone, welcome to a new countdown post. I should let everyone know that my next five posts will likely be out on time. Anyways, this week's countdown was hosted by the mashup. I'm generally fine with them doing it, but questionable things have happened during countdowns they hosted, for example, they hosted the week the countdown was shortened, then Kiss Me More left the countdown from #5 when they hosted last year (I should point out that I did not mind this happening, as the song had started to fade on me a few weeks before. I was more upset about Wanna Be by Jxdn and MGK, which also left that week, not sticking around after it was the One To Watch). As for this week, well... I hinted about something historic with the title of this post, but let's start with the songs that left this week.

Sam Smith- Love Me More (#24 last week)

So our first debut is Panic At The Disco's latest, Middle Of A Breakup. This is so much better than Viva Las Vengeance, mainly due to no obsessive key changes throughout. Also, he sounds good throughout and the production is pretty cool. I guess I'm fine with this doing well.

Our other debut this week is Vegas by Doja Cat. So this is from the new Elvis movie, and I previously heard one song from this movie, The King And I by Eminem and Ceelo Green, which was not all that great, especially compared to Don't You Worry, which was released on the same day. As for this song, it's a great song. It reminds me a lot of Callin by NBA Youngboy and Snoop Dogg from a couple years ago, and that was a great song. Doja Cat also sounds great throughout. I'm not all that sold on the sample that was used here yet, but it's fine. I would love to see this do well here.

Hitbound
Billie Eilish- TV (Debut)
Beyonce- Summer Renaissance (Debut)
Steve Lacy- Bad Habit (Debut)
Marshmello/ Mae Muller/ Trippie Redd- American Psycho (Debut)
Oh No- Drowsy (Debut)
Dixie- Someone To Blame
AJR- I Won't (Debut)
Rosa Linn- Snap (Debut)
Russ/ Ed Sheeran- Are You Entertained
Leah Kate- Life Sux (Debut)
Nessa Barrett- Die First (Re- entry)
TXT/ Iann Dior- Valley Of Lies
Jax- Victoria's Secret
Saucy Santana/ Latto- Booty
Fletcher- Becky's So Hot
Kane Brown- Grand

Billie Eilish replaces herself this week with TV and this is worse than what she brought last week. It's too slow and it's repetitive at the end. It feels way too long as well. I hope it drops out.

So Beyonce released Renaissance yesterday, and we have a new song off it called Summer Renaissance. This is fine, but I feel like it's too long and there are way too many parts of it. It's also super forgettable. It's fine though.

I feel as though this next song came from Tiktok, we now have Bad Habit by Steve Lacy. This is super interesting. I'm not all that sold on that part where there is no production backing it, and that's a problem when I'm biking under transmission lines. But the production is cool everywhere else, and Steve Lacy sounds good. It's also sort of forgettable though.

And now my favorite debut this week, this is the second time we have a collab between an EDM producer, a one to watch alum, and Trippie Redd, the first was Story Of My Life by Illennium, Sueco, and Trippie Redd from earlier this year. Now we have American Psycho by Marshmello, Mae Muller, and Trippie Redd on Hitbound. I liked Better Days from last year, except I liked the Regard remix more than the original. As for this new song, it's super great. Mae Muller sounds great,  Marshmello's production is super catchy, and Trippie Redd delivers a great verse here after I was moderately underwhelmed by his album Trip At Knight last year, but the hook might be my favorite part. I really hope this does well on here.

We now have some dude named Oh No with his song Drowsy. This is fine. I like his accent, but this song is moderately generic if catchy. It's still fine though.

Up next is AJR's latest song I Won't. I've always liked AJR's music, and this is no exception. Jack Met sounds great per usual and the production is fun. I have no doubts that this will be a huge hit, and I'm ready for that

We have a song called Snap by Rosa Linn up next. Apparently, she was representing Armenia in Eurovision, and I'm pretty hit or miss with Eurovision songs, I was super underwhelmed by Arcade by Duncan Laurence from last year (although I did not hate it at all), but I have liked every Maneskin song I have heard. This is super fun. She sounds good and the production is fun. I sort of see this doing well, since Arcade and Beggin both did well.

More Leah Kate... Yay... So her new song Life Sux is here. This is good, definitely better than 10 Things I Hate About You but not as good as Twinkle Twinkle Little B****. The production is really fun, also, for once she's not saying mean things about her ex that are super undeserved (only in TTLB was I cool with this). I'd be fine with this doing well, but if so, why this and not TTLB again?

Lastly, Die First by Nessa Barrett re-entered. I'm fine with this.

We lost The 30th, Stay With Me, Betty, Disaster, Blender, The Idea, Baby Boo, and Breakfast. Betty is now in the abyss, so hopefully it debuts next week, and I'm fine with the rest of them, even though I enjoyed the last four (The Idea and Breakfast were growing on me)

Both Someone To Blame and Victoria's Secret have faded on me, I now don't like the latter.

Blurbs
This was mostly a great week, let's start with the exits. Love Me More was getting super old and annoying, not to mention it was released the same day as Maybe You're The Problem, Brisa, and Can't Stop Us Now. Then Thousand Miles grew on me last month, but it was still getting slightly old.

Unfortunately, Glimpse Of Us climbed two spots. Why do people like this?

I guess First Class might be on its week here.

She Luv Me is now just outside the top 20. Please make the top 20 next week.

Big fat HAH on Running Up That Hill falling four spots off its debut last week.

Potion made a slight rebound after its huge drop last week.

Let's go! Break My Soul is now outside the top 15!

Also great on Left And Right jumping six spots to #13

However, I'm not happy at all on Ass It Was jumping four spots. I thought this was off the survey, so why is it jumping? Also, It's very bad, as you all know.

#s 10 through 4 all held their respective spots from last week.

And so, we have a new historic #1 this week, About Damn Time by Lizzo. Of course I'm sad that Sunroof is no longer #1, but with About Damn Time hitting #1, Lizzo is now the first black woman in 10 years to hit #1 and the first in 14 years to do it solo. Great job recognizing this is a hit Hits 1, Just please let black women hit #1 more in the future. I should state one more thing, I'm glad this is Lizzo's first #1 and not Truth Hurts or Good As Hell, because I did not like either of those songs.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
