First up, Super Freaky Girl by Nicki Minaj has debuted. This samples Super Freak by Rick James, which Vida Loca by the Black Eyed Peas, Nicky Jam, and Tyga also sampled. I like this one a bit. She sounds great here and the Rick James sample is really catchy here. I'd like to see this do well.

For our other debut, Ed Sheeran replaces himself this week, except as a feature on Are You Entertained by Russ, who is making his first countdown appearance with this song. It's really good, I think they both sound great here and their accents mix really well even though Russ isn't from the UK unlike Ed Sheeran. Also, the production is super fun here. I'd really like this to do well.

Hitbound
Oh No- Drowsy (Re-entry)
Demi Lovato- 29 (Debut)
James Hype/ Miggy Dela Rosa- Ferrari
Macklemore/ Windser- Maniac (Debut)
Blackpink- Pink Venom (Debut)
Dixie- Someone To Blame
Panic At The Disco- Don't Let The Lights Go Out (Debut)
Amelia Moore- Love Me Or Leave Me Alone
Havanna Winter- Rain Rain Go Away
Zedd/ Maren Morris/ Beauz- Make You Say (Debut)
Huddy- All The Things I Hate About You
Mergui- Sucks To Know You
Sofia Carson- Come Back Home (Debut)
Burna Boy- Last Last (Debut)
Rosa Linn- Snap
Calvin Harris/ Charlie Puth/ Shenseea- Obsessed

First up, Drowsy by Oh No re-entered. Okay then.

Demi Lovato released their/ her new album Holy Fvck yesterday and we have a new song off that album called 29. This is better than the other songs off that album but still could be better. It feels less energetic than Skin Of My Teeth and Substance, but Demi Lovato still sounds great and the lyrical content is decent, it apparently has to do with their breakup from 2010. I guess I'd be fine with this doing well.

Macklemore last appeared on Hits 1 three years ago with Summer Days, a collab with Martin Garrix and Patrick Stump from Fall Out Boy, and put out a song with Tones And I called Chant a few weeks ago that really underwhelmed me. But this new song, Maniac with Windser, is pretty Good, although I can't decide if it's better than Conan Gray's song of the same name or not. He delivers some pretty great verses here and Windser's hook is pretty catchy. This is definitely the return of Macklemore we were expecting.

Tbh I have mixed history with Blackpink. I don't generally like Kpop, but their song Ice Cream with Selena Gomez from two years ago was pretty good, and then last year, Lisa featured on SG by DJ Snake alongside Ozuna and Megan Thee Stallion, and that was really great. This new song, Pink Venom, is good but not great. They all sound great and the production is cool, but it's not too memorable. I hope this grows on me though.

Now for the best debut this week, Zedd and Maren Morris have collaborated again following The Middle from 2018 which was super overrated. But today, they team up with someone named Beauz on Make You Say, and this is 100% an improvement over The Middle. The production courtesy of Zedd and Beauz is really catchy and Maren Morris sounds so much better than in her previous songs. I cannot stress enough how much I want to be a hit, but since The Middle was huge, I have no doubts that this one will too.

Next up, Sofia Carson has now made her first appearance on Hits 1. A couple years ago, she had a song that missed Hits 1 with R3hab called Miss U More Than U Know and that was pretty great. This new song is not as good. She sounds fine here, almost like Tate Mcrae or Nessa Barrett, but I'm underwhelmed by the production, since the production on the aforementioned song was courtesy of R3hab. Solid song, but it could be better.

Lastly, Burna Boy is now on Hits 1. When it comes to Afropop, there is a really high chance I will like it. I liked Essence by Wizkid, Justin Bieber, and Tems, Peru by Fireboy Dml and Ed Sheeran, and Attention by Omah Lay and Justin Bieber. I also liked Love Nwantiti by Ckay a decent bit but not as much as those three. Now Last Last by Burna Boy is here. This is pretty good, though not as good as Rollercoaster with J Balvin from his album a couple months ago. He has a really interesting accent and the production is super fun. It's definitely kind of forgettable though, but I did remember this being great.

We lost Her, Staying Alive, What Would You Do, Life Sux, American Psycho, and Toxic Energy. Her is in the abyss and was not all that great, and I'm fine with Staying Alive, What Would You Do, and Life Sux going. But why the actual FUCK did they have to get rid of those last two, especially Toxic Energy? Both American Psycho and Toxic Energy are among my favorite songs right now and they both deserved to debut the countdown. Oh well, both songs will 100% be in my top 10 in the HB dropouts rankdown at the end of the year.

Blurbs:
Our exits were Running Up That Hill and 2 Step. Both of them were getting pretty old in different ways, as 2 Step was on the countdown for 20 weeks and Running Up That Hill is literally from 1985. So I'm fine with both of them going, also they were replaced by Super Freaky Girl and Are You Entertained, which are both great, so overall it's a W.

Can Glimpse Of Us just go away already?
'
Alright! Nice to see Betty getting a 5 spot boost

Why is Break My Soul flopping? It's #1 on the hot 100 right now, so it should definitely be a lot higher than #22

Oof. After finally cracking the top 10 last week, Me Myself & I fell 11 spots. It's been here for a while though and it has had a great run.

So Good, on the other hand, deserved to fall 11 spots.

Are you legit SHITTING me right now? Two of the worst songs of the year, Victoria's Secret and Music For A Sushi Restaurant, made big jumps this week. I really hope this is short lived for both songs.

Why did Easy Lover fall 4 spots off its megajump last week? I hope this rebounds next week.

I Ain't Worried and Vagas both jumped five spots. Good for both of them, the former has grown on me a decent bit.

Guess Hits 1 is not letting every EDM song they pick up on flop, since Numb is now in the top 10

Supermodel rebounded to #6 this week. Hopefully this becomes Maneskin's first top 5 song next week.

Both I Like You and Left And Right made the top 5 this week. Yay for I Like You, for Left And Right it would be great if they would switch to the Sam Feldt remix please and thank you then I will move it back up to green.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
