All right then... (Week of 10/22/22)
Hello everyone, welcome back to another countdown post. This week was... interesting to say the least. We had a lot of re-entries, and our only debut wasn't all that great. We had some great moves and a new #1 that I'm fine with for now, but could get annoying if it stays at #1. All right, here are the songs that left this week:

Zedd/ Maren Morris/ Beauz- Make You Say (#17 last week)

My Favorite Song Two Years Ago: All Time Low/ Blackbear- Monsters
Recommendations for Hits 1: Yung Gravy/ Bbno$/ Rich Brian- Cest La Vie, BoyWithUke/ Oliver Tree- Sick Of U, Gryffin/ Tinashe- Scandalous, Tiesto/ Black Eyed Peas- Pump It Louder, and Acraze/ Goodboys- Believe
As previously stated, we have three re-entries this week, they are Snap, Wrapped Around Your Finger, and Million Dollar Baby. Snap is really bad and should not have re-entered, I'm still not sure why they want Wrapped Around Your Finger to be a thing, and I'm glad Million Dollar Baby is back.
And we have one debut as well, Cuff It by Beyonce. This is not as good as something like Break My Soul was. It feels a bit too weird for my liking, and it also feels a bit too long for what it is. I can see this getting annoying if it sticks around for a bit too long.

(sighs) Taylor Swift put out a new album called Midnights yesterday, and we have a new song off it called Anti Hero. I've always found Taylor Swift extremely overrated, in fact, I hated everything off her re-recorded albums. So this new song would be at least good if it were by someone else, but since it's Taylor Swift, it's my least favorite song on here. Unfortunately, they are going to let this do well.
So Kenzie is now on Hits 1. I heard the name from Notd's song Worst Thing from earlier this year, but I never heard that song. This song, however, is good, it's nothing too special. She sounds fine and this has interesting production, It's kind of forgettable.
Up next, another newcomer, Mazie, and her song Dumb Dumb. This is an interesting song. She has an interesting accent and the production is almost house type. The lyrics also are like other odd songs from this year, mostly like Jiggle Jiggle. It's more forgettable though, so I'm not feeling it as much.
I was not asking for more Rosa Linn on here. But today, she brings us WDIA with Duncan Laurence, who remember from Arcade from last year, which was barely decent at best. This is good. It starts off slow but gets more upbeat as it goes on. The melodies are great on this and both of them sound better then on Arcade or Snap. I'm totally fine that is here.
In 2019, Waterparks had a song on the countdown called Dream Boy that was really good, then they had a song called Self Sabotage that was really good but never made Hits 1. Today, they bring us Love About It with Blackbear (because... who else these days?). This is pretty good. Both Awsten Knight and Blackbear deliver great vocal performances here and the production is solid. I'd like this to be a hit here.
And lastly... Someone named Avery Anna is on here. Apparently, she has made multiple appearances on Hunter's Crownnote chart, and I will likely never understand why judging by this one song. Yeah, it's not good in my opinion. It's super slow, and it only evolves at the end. She sounds fine, but I just can't bring myself to know where Hits 1 even found this. I hope this is not the next One To Watch.
We lost Enough, Fmk (again), Omw, Charlie Be Quiet, Curious/ Furious (again), Staying Alive (again, finally), and Tripping Over Air. The first two are in the abyss, so I'd be cool with these debuting next week. Omw is an Asse song, so I'm fine with that going. I liked Charlie Be Quiet, so I would have loved to see that on the countdown, but it's cool. Staying Alive was starting to get annoying, again, I'm cool with that going. Curious/ Furious was growing on me, so I'm sad that's gone. Lastly, as much as I liked Tripping Over Air, they apparently picked up on it because Aidan Bissett is Claire Rosinkranz's boyfriend, so it was never really going to debut anyways.
Blurbs
Our exits were Glimpse Of Us, About Damn Time, Make You Say, and Calm Down. Glimpse Of Us was really bad and belonged on Christian radio instead of pop radio, so I'm glad that's finally gone. I think Make You Say and Calm Down should have lasted a lot longer, and in the case of the latter, a much higher peak. Lastly, About Damn Time's historic run has come to an end. I saw this coming for many weeks, and will still forever be missed.
Is Late Night Toppling going to leave next week?
After re-entering again, Until I found You hasn't really done much except lurk between #20 and #10.
Don't Let The Light Go Out fell out of the top 10. Ok cool. He has better and worse songs.
Nice seeing Unholy climbing 7 spots to #12.
Even better seeing I'm Good crack the top 10 for the first time. Thank you Hits 1 for recognizing this is a hit.
Hold Me Closer also cracked the top 10 this week to #6. I hope this makes the top 5 next week.
Lastly, 2 Be Loved is our new #1 this week. Really guys? I mean, I'll happily take this over Music For A Sushi Restaurant or Victoria's Secret, but it's still not that great although I don't hate it all. I hope this gets dethroned by I Ain't Worried next week. On the bright side, though, Hits 1 only waited three months after About Damn Time hit #1 to let a black woman hit #1 again as opposed to 14 years. So it all balances out to decent on this hitting #1 overall.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
hey check out this fans1 countdown with new stuff and new survey woohoo
