My Top 30 best songs of 2022

Hello everyone, today I will be going over my 30 favorite songs from 2022. There is no criteria for this list, it is just any songs I liked during the past year. Like my worst list, this has some standout songs and some you might not know my opinions on as I only started blogging in May, but like with the worst list, you are familiar with most of my opinions. Let's get started.

30. Sigala/ Talia Mar- Stay The Night
This one is really cool. Sigala did a great job on the production here, and Talia Mar sounds great. It's also in my happy key of Bb major, really setting the vibe.

I'm probably gonna receive a lot of hate for this next one, but it's cool.

29. Morgan Wallen- Wasted On You
I don't know what it is, but I find country songs like this to be quite good, and this is no exception. I really like Morgan Wallen's accent here, and the production, while somewhat slow, is pretty cool.

So I mentioned that there will be songs that you never heard my opinion on, and this is the first of those.

28. Alesso/ Katy Perry- When I'm Gone
Just a fun song in every way. Alesso did a great job on the production, and Katy Perry sounds great on this.

27. MGK/ Bring Me The Horizon- Maybe
Such a wild song here. Both MGK and Bring Me The Horizon sound great on this and Travis Barker did an amazing job on the production. I definitely wish this had taken off everywhere though.

26. Camila Cabello/ Ed Sheeran- Bam Bam
This is super catchy. Both Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran sound great here and I like the Latin feel of this. I'm glad this was a huge hit.

25. Post Malone/ Doja Cat- I Like You
So I'm apparently the only one who didn't get tired of this. This song reminds me a lot of South Of The Border by Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, and Cardi B from two years ago, which is also a great song. Both of them sound great and the lyrics are super happy. The production also sets the vibe.

24. Nicky Youre/ Dazy- Sunroof
Ah yes, this one. This was the unofficial hit of the summer in most people's opinions, but for me, that's yet to come on this list. Anyways, Nicky Youre sounds great on this and the production is super cool, and it being in my happy key of Bb major sets the vibe hard.

23. The Chainsmokers- I Love U
Obviously, I don't like this as much as Trey does, but it's still really good. 2022 was not a great year for the Chainsmokers as no songs off So Far So Good did well on radio. This is definitely one of my favorite TCS tracks. Their production is great and Drew Taggart sounds amazing and the lyrics are somewhat relatable.

22. Yung Gravy- Betty
Ah yes, this one. This is a really unique song. It heavily samples Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley in a great way. The beat of the song is also super cool, and Yung Gravy has a super unique accent, and I mean that as a good thing. I'm glad this blew up as much as it did.

21. Pitbull/ Zac Brown- Can't Stop Us Now
This one is super fun. I like the country/ EDM type production here, and Pitbull does a great job in his verses, and I also like Zac Brown's hook. Great song.

20. Omah Lay/ Justin Bieber- Attention
Although this only lasted two weeks on Hits 1 (one on HB and one on the countdown), this could be one of my favorite Afropop songs of all time. It has super cool production, and both Bieber and Omah Lay sound great on this. The lyrics are the best part of the song, they remind me of one of my dogs begging for attention.

19. Regard/ Years & Years- Hallucination
Of all the Regard songs that I have listened to, this one feels the least like a Regard song, but that does not mean it isn't good. He did a great job on the production and Years & Years sounds amazing on this.

18. Jax Jones/ Mnek- Where Did You Go

This is extremely fun. Jax Jones did an amazing job with the production, especially that drop, and Mnek sounds amazing here. It's also in my happy key of Bb major.

17. Elton John/ Britney Spears- Hold Me Closer

This is such a great song. Both of them sound amazing, and whoever produced this did an amazing job, setting the vibe hard. I also like how this sampled Elton John's older hit Tiny Dancer.

16. Yung Gravy/ Bbno$/ Rich Brian- Cest La Vie
So Yung Gravy tried to follow up Betty with this, and it did not really take off anywhere. It's still a great song. The lyrics are super dope, the production is extremely cool, and their interesting accents make the song work.

Anyone remember this next song from the beginning of 2022?

15. ENCANTO- We Don't Talk About Bruno
Ah yes, this one. I really enjoied this one when it was a thing. I'm not that into Disney music on the radio, but if it is a huge hit on Billboard like this was, then I'm totally fine, and in this case, since the song is really good and was WRITTEN IN 2022, I'm totally fine with this. Anyway, I like this a lot. Everyone singing sounds good, and I like the Latin type production on this. This will always be a fun listen, whether you are watching Encanto (I still haven't seen that movie yet) or just listening to it elsewhere. That's why LMM is a soundtrack writing genius.

Back to genres I usually like.

14. Gryffin/ Jason Ross/ Calle Lehmann- After You
So this song debuting Hitbound was my first time listening to Gryffin's music, and this was really good, and there will be two more Gryffin songs on this list. Anyways, both Gryffin and Jason Ross did a great job on the production, and Calle Lehmann sounds great on this. I especially like the drop on this. Good first introduction to Gryffin for me.

13. The Weeknd- Out Of Time
I like how chill this song was, and the lyrics can hit you in the feels, especially with the chill but upbeat production and how good The Weeknd sounds. It's also interesting how Jim Carrey says "Here's 30 minutes of easy listening on 103.5 Dawn FM" at the end.

But ironically, the next song on the list is not easy listening.

12. Gunna/ Future/ Young Thug- Pushin P
This is definitely a funny song in all ways. I like how all three ar saying random sentences that have words that start with P, then saying "Pushin P" at the end. Also, they are doing it along to sone super cool production. Great Song.

11. Blackbear/ The Used- Toxic Energy
Blackbear has some great songs, but this one might be his best. This contains wild production from Barker, and both Blackbear and The Used sound amazing on this. I'm also really enjoying the lyrics on this. I've been vibing hard to this one.

10. Kygo/ Gryffin/ Calum Scott- Woke Up In Love
Everything about this is great. Calum Scott sounds great on this and Kygo and Gryffin did a great job on the production. And those lyrics... well, those types of songs are super enjoyable for me to listen to.

9. Jack Harlow- First Class
This song is super cool. It has fun production and he does some great verses and a great hook. I also like how he sampled Glamorous by Fergie and Ludacris in the hook. This might be Jack Harlow's best song so far.

8. Calvin Harris/ Charlie Puth/ Shenseea- Obsessed
This was definitely my favorite song off Calvin Harris's album Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2 from earlier this year. Calvin Harris did a great job on the production, I like how Charlie Puth is trying to impersonate Panic At The Disco during this, and Shenseea does an amazing verse.

7. David Guetta/ Bebe Rexha- I'm Good
Where to begin with this amazing song? I guess this has amazing production from David Guetta, and Bebe Rexha sound absolutely amazing. I also think this has one of the best drops I have ever heard that isn't from Regard. I'm glad this became the hit that it was.

6. Gryffin/ Tinashe- Scandalous
Wow, this might be one of my favorite songs from either of these guys. Tinashe sounds amazing and the production from Gryffin is amazing, it's almost as though he co-produced this with Regard, and I mean this as a compliment.

5. Black Eyed Peas/ Shakira/ David Guetta- Don't You Worry
This song completely slaps. David Guetta did an amazing job with the production and all four people singing sound great on this. The lyrics are completely relatable when you are moving into a college dorm, and yes, I was blasting this the week I moved back down to Cincinnati earlier this year.

4. Blink 182- Edging
This was such a great Tom Delonge era Blink 182 comeback single. This song reminds me a lot of earlier Blink 182 songs, specifically All The Small Things. The guys did an amazing job on the production and both Hoppus and Delonge sound amazing on this. I really wish this had been more of a hit on pop radio than it was.

3. Zion & Lennox/ Danny Ocean- Brisa

Now OG viewers of the blog might remember me recommending this for Hits 1 for the first five weeks of me blogging. This was the song of the summer in my opinion. This had some extremely cool production all three of them sounded amazing. I also like the use of the steel drums in the drop. One of Zion & Lennox's best songs.

On the topic of songs that OG viewers of the blog might remember me talking about...

2. Duke & Jones/ Louis Theroux- Jiggle Jiggle
Yeah I'm sure many people would suspect this would end up high on the list. This might be the funniest song I have ever heard. First off, Louis Theroux is a journalist and documentary filmmaker from the UK, which makes it all the funnier. The lyrics are very funny, especially the chorus. It's especially funny when the song is rapped in Louis Theroux's British accent along to the funny production from Duke & Jones.

Before I reveal my favorite song of 2022, I'm going to list some honorable mentions:

Ava Max- Maybe You're The Problem
Great Ava Max song

Fireboy Dml/ Ed Sheeran- Peru
Catchy song in my happy key of Bb major, and they both sound great

James Hype/ Miggy Dela Rosa- Ferrari
His production is really hyping, and Miggy Dela Rosa sounds great, although there should be verses in this.

Lil Nas X/ NBA Youngboy- Late To Da Party
Cool song, and the both deliver great verses.

Oliver Tree/ Robin Schulz- Miss You
Amazing production from Schulz, and I like the up-pitched vocals from Oliver Tree.

Masked Wolf/ Bring Me The Horizon- Fallout
Masked Wolf delivers great verses, and Bring Me The Horizon's hook is super cool. It also has great production.

Black Eyed Peas/ Anuel- Muevelo
So the only reason this is in the Honorable mentions is that it is not a single yet, but it is still one of the best tracks off Elevation.

And so my favorite song of 2022 is...

1. Black Eyed Peas/ Anitta/ El Alfa- Simply The Best
Yeah, no major surprise here. I have previously said this is possibly the best song I have ever heard, and for good reason. The production from DJ Ammo is extremely amazing, the hook from Will.i.am and Anitta is way too catchy for me not to enjoy, and Will.i.am, Apl De Ap, Taboo, and El Alfa absolutely SLAY on their verses. I could be listening to this one for years to come.

And that concludes my best songs of 2022 list. I will see you guys for my countdown post out this Saturday, and don't forget to submit for my rankdown.
