Hello everyone, welcome to another countdown post. So I have a history of liking EDM remixes of songs more than the originals, like the Cedric Gervais remix of Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey, the Robin Schulz remix of Waves by Mr Probz, the Felix Jaehn remix of Cheerleader by Omi, the Seeb remix of I Took A Pill In Ibiza by Mike Posner, the Imanbek remix of Roses by Saint Jhn, and the Regard remix of Better Days by Neiked, Mae Muller, and Polo G just to name a few. Today, a remix of Players by Coi Leray from someone named DJ Smallz 732 debuts this week. I haven't heard the original yet, but this remix is quite good. It reminds me of Pump It Louder by Tiesto and the Black Eyed Peas in a way. Coi Leray drops some great bars and the production from DJ Smallz 732 is interesting despite a few instruments missing in my opinion, I would not like this song to be fucked over please and thank you...
Up next is a song I recommended a few weeks ago, Girl Like Me by Dove Cameron. I like this, but not as much as the Black Eyed Peas and Shakira's song of the same name from two years ago. She sounds pretty great here and this has cooler production than her other songs on here, especially the electric guitar in the post chorus. I really want this to debut here.
Up next, we have another Leah Kate song on here, this is called My Bed, and it samples Can't Get You Out Of My Head by Kylie Minogue, a song I've never heard before. She's going for a different vibe than her previous songs, both productionwise and lyrically, which I'm totally fine with considering how bad 10 Things I Hate About You was, even though Twinkle Twinkle Little Bitch was quite good. Anyways, this has some cool production and her accent goes really well with it. As for the sample, I guess she sampled the Kylie Minogue song more the same way Yung Gravy sampled Never Gonna Give You Up in Betty than how Jack Harlow sampled Glamorous in First Class. I'd call this one of Leah Kate's better songs.
Lastly, 10:35 by Tiesto the rapper and Tate Mcrae re-entered. Happy about that.
We lost Kill Bill, Tukoh Taka, and Used To. Kill Bill was the countdown extra, marking the third time (at least since I started blogging) the countdown extra that week was not on the corresponding HB episode, the first two were Jiggle Jiggle and Heartbeat. Tukoh Taka should have debuted, it was really good, and Used To was just decent so I'm fine with that leaving.
Blurbs
Honestly, we need some of these older songs out next week.
It's Been So Long, Evergreen, and Sex Drugs Etc all fell three spots. Could not care less about Evergreen, I'm happy Sex Drugs Etc dropped, and I'm fine with It's Been So Long dropping
Woohoo! Creepin jumped five spots! I hope this hits the top 20 next week.
I'm still not ready to move Cuff It down to awful, but it should probably stop jumping.
Speaking of songs that need to stop jumping, Snap jumped back up to #10. Completely undeserved. Disclaimer: This is not the hint as to what my #53 in my rankdown is.
Okay. Made You Puke is almost at in the top 5. I still don't mind this at all.
Star Walkin jumped back up to #2 Happy about that.
Lastly, Anti Hero is still #1 after eight weeks, making it the first song since Ass It Was to last that long at #1. Thankfully, Ass It Was only lasted eight weeks at #1, so hopefully, this gets dethroned by Forget Me, I'm Good, or Star Walkin next week. Just ANY ONE OF THOSE, I DON'T CARE WHICH ONE.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
Hint is Escapism?
ReplyDeleteIf it is, he's out of luck. That's at least top 10, maybe top spot for me.
DeleteIt's not Escapism
DeleteHouse of memories is on hits 1 let's freaking go.
