My Review on the Across The Spider Verse Soundtrack

Hello everyone, today I will be reviewing the soundtrack for Spider Man: Across The Spider Verse. Let's get into it.
This was executive produced by Metro Boomin, and he is credited on most of these tracks, but I will be crediting him on all of them, even though this isn't a studio album from him unlike Heroes & Villains, which spawned Creepin, if you don't remember. Let's begin, I will be using the same format I used for my other five posts of this type.

1. Annihilate (with Swae Lee, Offset, and Lil Wayne)

Honestly, I kind of agree with HrishK on this one. This is super cool. It has some super cool production, I like Swae Lee's hook, and all three of them deliver solid verses.
Ranking: Great

2. Am I Dreaming (with Asap Rocky and Roisee)

I'm kind of digging the fiddles here he did in the background. Asap Rocky does a great verse, and Roisee sounds pretty good.
Ranking: Great

3. All The Way Live (with Future and Lil Uzi Vert)

Throwback to Pluto x Baby Pluto, the Future/ Lil Uzi Vert collab album from 2020. I like Metro Boomin's production here, and they both do a great job.
Ranking: Great

4. Danger (with Offset and JID)

This one is fine. It has cool production and they both do well, but I'm not sold on the key the production is in, and there are no real melodies, but it's fine.
Ranking: Good

5. Hummingbird (with James Blake)

I'm not sure someone like James Blake belongs on something like this. There is slow bits and trap bits in the production. I don't think I will really come back to this.
Ranking: Decent

6. Calling (with Swae Lee, Nav, and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie)

This one is fun. Just like the first track, Swae Lee does a great hook, and both Nav and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie do great verses. I could do without that outro, but it's fine.
Ranking: Great

7. Silk & Cologne (with Ei8ht and Offset)

This is super catchy. Ei8ht does a great job here and I also like Offset's verse.
Ranking: Great

8. Link Up (with Don Toliver, Wizkid, Beam, and Toian)

So this is super fun. A strange collab, but it works. They all do well here and I like how he can do different production styles.
Ranking: Great

9. Self Love (with Coi Leray)

Pretty good.  He did a great job producing per usual, and Coi Leray sounds amazing throughout.
Ranking: Great

10. Home (with Don Toliver and Lil Uzi Vert)

Another banger. He did an amazing job producing and both of them do a great job here.
Ranking: Great

11. Nonviolent Communication (with James Blake, 21 Savage, and Asap Rocky)

This is fine. I'm not too sold on this yet, but James Blake does a better job than in Hummingbird and both 21 Savage and Asap Rocky do great verses.
Ranking: Good

12. Givin Up (with Don Toliver, 21 Savage, and 2 Chainz)

Nothing I'm sold on, it's definitely my "least favorite" track on here with Don Toliver, but it's not bad at all. I like Don Toliver's hook, and both 21 Savage and 2 Chainz do great verses.
Ranking: Good

13. Nas Morales (with Nas)

I'm assuming this is a freestyle here. So Nas does a pretty good job here, but I wish there were more melodies.
Ranking: Good

14. Ansiedades (with Mora)

These last six tracks are on the deluxe version. Mora is a reggaeton singer who I'm not too familiar with, since the track is in Spanish. Mora's voice goes well with Metro Boomin's production, and the track as a whole is pretty catchy.
Ranking: Great

15. Take It To The Top (with Becky G and Ayra Starr)

I feel like this samples something, I can't figure out what, but the production gives off the vibes of Unforgettable by French Montana and Swae Lee from 2018, and that is a good thing. Becky G and Ayra Starr both sound good.
Ranking: Great

16. Infamous (with Shenseea and Myke Towers)

This goes hard. I like his production on this here, and I like both of their verses here. Not sure what the hook is supposed to be, but it's fine.
Ranking: Great

17. I Can't Stop (with Big Bss Vette and Omah Lay)

Ok, this is a vibe. I like the production, it gives off EDM vibes. Both Big Boss Vette and Omah Lay do a good job here.
Ranking: Great

18. Another Dimension (with Pop Money)

So we finish off the album with this. Not too sold on it, but it's fine. It's not a rap song, but Pop Money sounds fine and the production is fine.
Ranking: Decent

And there you have it. That is the new Spider Verse soundtrack. Such a fun album. It's a shame the Dominic Fike one isn't available on Apple Music rn, but I can let that slide. See you guys in my next countdown post!
