My Favorite Song Two Years Ago: Regard/ Troye Sivan/ Tate Mcrae- You
#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Sour Fiction- Icesong

So first up, we have All My Life by Lil Durk and J Cole at #30. This is such a fun song. Both of them deliver amazing verses, and the chorus is pretty interesting, I thought it was a sample, but HrishK informed me that it was actually a choir doing it, and it is well executed, since Lil Durk also does part of it too. Great song, I hope it is a hit.

Lastly, all the way up at #13, we thankfully don't have an unncecssary re-entry from Cruel Summer by Taylor Swift three years after its brief tenure in 2020, but instead, we have Trustfall by Pink debuting, and guys, this is an easy improvement. Pink sounds really good throughout, and I like the somewhat grand EDM type production on this. I wonder who produced this... (checks credits) It was Fred Again, whom I've heard a few songs from, and he did a great job producing. Fun song from Pink.

Hitbound
Nicky Youre- Good Times Go
Madison Beer- Home To Another One
Doechii- What It Is
Crash Adams- Lucky
Niall Horan- If You Leave Me
Kali- Area Codes
Pink Pantheress- Angel
Jimin/ Jvke/ Muni Long/ Charlie Puth- Angel Part 2 (Debut)
Jessie Murph/ Maren Morris- Dumb Ol Stupid Texas
Dominic Fike- Mona Lisa (Debut)
Bailey Bryan- Iykyk
Benson Boone- In The Stars (Re-entry)
Doja Cat- Attention (Debut)
Havanna Winter- Tornado (Debut)
Pitbull/ Lil Jon- Jumpin
Devon Cole- 1800 Got Stress (Debut)

First up, we have a new version of Angel from the Fast & Furious soundtrack, but Kodak Black and Nle Choppa are replaced by Charlie Puth, and Jimin, Jvke, and Muni Long are still there. This new version is good, but not as good as Part 1. We still have the same great hook, and while Jvke and Charlie Puth do good verses, I don't like them as much as I do Kodak Black and Nle Choppa's in Part 1. Also, the production during the verses is almost completely different than in Part 1. It's still fine.

Ok I finally get to talk about Mona Lisa by Dominic Fike from the Spider Verse soundtrack. So this is fine. I think Dominic Fike sounds pretty good here and I like the production on this, it's just moderately forgettable. I'm still hoping they pick up on Annihilate though.

Ladies and gentlemen, a record has been broken for the longest time between when a song drops out of Hitbound and when it re-enters. So In The Stars by Benson Boone, which debuted HB the week before I started blogging and left the week after I started blogging, recently got serviced to pop radio. Not sure how that came about, but pretty good to see it back. My opinion still stands one year later (although I revisited it during the 2022 countdown extras rankdown). I don't know what this will do now, we shall see.

Doja Cat is back with new music, this is called Attention. I would call this somewhat better than Charlie Puth's song of the same title but not as good as Omah Lay and Justin Bieber's song of the same title. She has done better songs in the past, but this is fine. She sounds pretty good and I like the production, it's somewhat forgettable and I need to listen to this more. It's likely going to have success on AT40, but I don't usually listen to AT40, so Hits 1 could make this a thing too.

Oh. My. God. Give. Up. On. Havanna. Winter. Yes, I'm not even kidding. They have literally picked up on all five of her songs from the past year. I have no clue where the fuck they even found her, unlike other mediocre artists they consistently pick up on. Like with Asse, Moral Of The Story featured Niall Horan and was a hit most everywhere else, and then Save Myself was a 1TW. So that makes sense. With Leah Kate, she was a 1TW and 10 Things I Hate About You was a hit everywhere else (you guys had so many better options), so that makes sense too. With Dixie, Be Happy was a thing everywhere else, and then she has good songs, like Older with Steve Aoki and Jimmie Allen from earlier this year. So that makes sense. But Havanna Winter never had huge hits on pop radio nor was she a 1TW. In fact, none of the songs of hers that Hits 1 has picked up on have even made the countdown. So I'm completely questioning why the fuck they are trying to make her a thing. As for this new song, it's completely fine, it doesn't sound like she's trying to rip anyone off, I just think Hits 1 needs to stop picking up on her music.

Lastly, I'm pretty sure we remember Devon Cole from her HB Dropout Witch from last year. Well, she has a new song today called 1800 Got Stress. Interesting title. Ok, this is kind of cool. It has super creative lyrics for a song about mental health, and this has pretty cool production. Interesting song.

We lost Princess Diana, What The Hell Are We Dying For, A Beautiful Game, and Vulgar. I was assuming they were going to let the last three on to the countdown, but it's completely fine. Really, Vulgar is the only one I'm going to miss a decent bit.

Blurbs
Our exits were Lottery and I Know It Won't Work. Lottery had a really good run here, and I'm not sure what the point of bringing I Know It Won't Work back if it was just going to leave the following week. Oh well, I guess I will never fully understand Hits 1 as much as I probably should.

I guess Heaven is on its way out. It took a huge hit this week, but it had a great run.

Popular jumped 9 spots off its debut. I can't tell if this is growing on me or not, but it's definitely not fading on me.

I'm In Love With You and That's Not How This Works took surprising drops. I thought these would be in the top 5 in stead, but they might be gone next week instead.

Meltdown is starting to get success, that's good to see.

I guess Love From The Other Side, which has been here for a long time, might be on its way out soon.

Baby Don't Hurt Me is in its rightful place in the top 10.

Well fuck, guys. Satellite is in the top 10. Completely unnecessary.

At least Dance The Night is at #4 now. I really hope this dethrones Karma in the coming weeks.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
