Now that we're all on the same page... (Week of 7/15/2023)
Hello everyone, welcome to another countdown post. This was a pretty interesting week, that would have made absolutely no sense if it was actually Daniel's fake countdown from last week that happened. But it does make sense due to what really happened. Here are the songs that left the real countdown this week (I will go over what left Daniel's fake countdown in the blurbs):
David Kushner- Daylight (#24 on the real countdown/ #1 on the fake countdown last week)
NF- Happy (#14 on the real countdown/ #17 on the fake countdown last week)

Countdown Extra: TXT/ Jonas Brothers- Do It Like That
Last Year's #1: Nicky Youre/ Dazy- Sunroof
#1 Two Years Ago: Olivia Rodrigo- Good 4 U
My Favorite Song Last Year: Post Malone Doja Cat- I Like You
My Favorite Song Two Years Ago: Justin Wellington/ Small Jam- Iko Iko
#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Jax Jones/ Fireboy Dml- Me & My Guitar
Our first debut is What It Is by Doechii. I like this, but not as much as I like the one with Kodak Black since I have more tolerability for his music than the entire community. Doechii sounds really good here and I like the production. Such a cool song.
Mourning by Post Malone, although it would actually be jumping eight spots if it were the fake countdown last week. And if it were the fake countdown last week, we would have had a whopping four re-entries. I will talk about those in the blurbs.
Hitbound:
The Band Camino- See You Later
Billie Eilish- What Was I Made For (Debut)
Troye Sivan- Rush (Debut)
Crash Adams- Sugar Mommy (Debut)
TXT/ Jonas Brothers- Do It Like That
Kaliii- Area Codes
Fall Out Boy- We Didn't Start The Fire
Hayes Warner- Dead To Me (Debut)
Leah Kate- Super Over
Jungkook/ Latto- Seven (Debut)
Jelly Roll- Need A Favor
Fifty Fifty/ Kaliii- Barbie Dreams (Debut)
D4vd- Here With Me
Benson Boone- In The Stars
(G)i-Dle- I Do (Debut)
Up first is the first of two debuts this week from the Barbie movie, this is What Was I Made For by Billie Eilish. And I'm not really feeling this. It's a bit too slow in my opinion. Plus, Mikey Piff said it reminds him of the end of Toy Story 3, and now I can't unhear that.
It gets better, as we have a new song from Troye Sivan called Rush. H o l y C r a p. This is a marked improvement over Angel Baby, which was his last song on here, but nowhere near as good as You, though. I like the house production on this (unfortunately, it was not done by a famous DJ). Troye Sivan also sounds pretty good here. Cool song.
Crash Adams replace themselves with Sugar Mommy this week. This is fine. It's moderately forgettable, except I sort of remember the chorus because when I listened to it, I felt as though there could have been a sample of All Around The World by ATC in the background there. So this is overall fine, I need a more solid opinion.
Well, it's been a while, but for the first time in a few weeks, we have another random newcomer, this time it's Hayes Warner with her song Dead To Me. This is actually pretty good. It's in the right key here and she sounds really good. I don't know where they found this, but I'm glad they did.
The last three songs are all Kpop songs (sorry HrishK). We have another solo Jungkook song following Left And Right and Dreamers, a collaboration with Latto called Seven. Is it just me, or does this have similar lyrical content to Saturday/ Sunday by Jason Derulo and David Guetta from earlier this year? That's kind of what it feels like to me. Honestly, Jungkook is one of the better sounding BTS members, and Latto's verse fits into the song well. So overall, pretty good.
Something Fifty Fifty and Kaliii have in common: They have only one Hits 1 appearance each, and in Kaliii's case, no countdown appearances. And since Mikey Piff is going completely nuts about the Barbie movie, Barbie Dreams by Fifty Fifty and Kaliii is here. This is just alright. The Fifty Fifty girls sound fine and Kaliii's verse is fine too, it's just moderately forgettable. I don't know, do I need more Fifty Fifty after this?
Lastly, we have (G)i-Dle making their Hits 1 debut with I Do. This is alright. I don't think I've heard of this group before, but they all sound pretty good and it has cool production. So surprisingly alright.
We lost Makeba, Calling, Lucky, Dumb Ol Stupid Texas, Make My Day, and Sandman this week. The first two are in the abyss, so I want Calling to debut in the future and couldn't care less about Makeba. Lucky and Dumb Ol Stupid Texas were both fine but I'm not going to miss them that much, and Make My Day and Sandman really should have gotten a shot at the countdown.
Blurbs
Our exits were Daylight and Happy. If it actually was the fake countdown that happened last week, Daylight would have been the first ever song to leave from the #1 spot. But the reality is it left from the #24 spot because the fake countdown did not actually happen. I'm glad it grew on me, though. And then Happy is probably gone for good this time.
Also, if it were the fake countdown last week, we would have had seven exits this week: the two aforementioned songs, You're Losing Me by Taylor Swift (which isn't even on streaming platforms), Makeba, I Know It Won't Work, Wish You The Best, and Trustfall. Just an interesting side note.
Why did Jumpin drop off its debut? This should be higher. (If it were the fake countdown last week, Jumpin would have been a debut this week).
What A Night also would have been a debut this week, and in reality, it jumped two spots. Nice. Also, had the fake countdown happened, Attention, Void, Last Night, and Cruel Summer would have been re-entries, but they actually held on to the #30, dropped 1 spot, dropped two spots, and jumped four spots respectively. Couldn't care less about Attention and Void (but I want Attention in a spot other than #30 next week please). I hope Last Night can jump again next week, and it's just wrong that Cruel Summer is in the fucking top 5 now.
Mona Lisa dropping one spot might not seem like much, but if it were the fake countdown last week, Mona Lisa would have dropped 17 spots off a 20 spot jump.
Vampire got a nice jump off its debut, whereas it would have dropped 16 spots off its debut if it were the fake countdown last week.
Good riddance to Karma, it dropped 13 spots regardless of what countdown happened last week.
Ugh. Why is Satellite back in the top 10? I'm sure no one wanted this.
Hopefully, Give Me A Kiss can get to #1 before Vampire or Cruel Summer, and if it's Vampire first (as in after Give Me A Kiss), I hope it blocks Cruel Summer.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
Can you post the whole fake countdown here?
