It's that time of year again, welcome to my two year anniversary post. I'd like to state that I'm also delaying my Radical Optimism album review to next week in addition to my countdown recreations. I've just been busy this past week with travelling. Now on to this countdown, it was a solid week, mainly due to our new #1 that I was kind of wanting to hit #1 for a couple weeks. Recommendations For Hits 1: Yung Gravy- Clementine and Black Eyed Peas/ El Alfa/ Becky G- Tonight

Oh great, I have to deal with this first song again. So we have I Like The Way You Kiss Me by Artemas, and after a few listens to this on HB, I've decided I don't like this. His production here is honestly strange and doesn't go well with his autotuned vocals. I hope this doesn't last too long.

On a better note, I've been waiting a few weeks to talk about this completely amazing song. So coming in at #25, we have A Bar Song by Shaboozey and this slaps so fucking hard. The production on this is extremely cool and Shaboozey's vocals make this whole thing work. So glad this is becoming a huge hit.

Hitbound

D4vd- Feel It
Jax/ Hardy- Zombieland (Debut)
Marshmello/ Kane Brown- Miles On It (Debut)
Tommy Richman- Million Dollar Baby
Dua Lipa- These Walls
Camila Cabello/ Lil Nas X- He Knows (Debut)

Teddy Swims- Hammer To The Heart (Debut)
Jessie Murph- Cold

Post Malone and Morgan Wallen have been teasing this first song for a few weeks now, and we finally have it. This is called I Had Some help, and it is quite good, definitely redeeming to me after Fortnight happened. This is upbeat, like the two times Morgan Wallen featured on Lil Durk songs, and Post Malone and Morgan Wallen sound great here and have surprisingly great chemistry. I see this is on track to be a hit, and let's just hope it is.

Alec Benjamin just dropped a new album, and it has his first two collabs with other artists as lead artist. One of those songs is Ways To Go with Khalid, and that makes its way onto here. This is a solid song. Nothing too special but they both sound fine and it has alright production. So solid song.

So we added this next song instead of Betty Part 2 or Simply The Best Part 2. This is a new solo song from RM from BTS called Come Back To Me. And what the living hell did I listen to? So RM is primarily known as a rapper with BTS, but this is too damn slow. And when he's singing, he sounds all checked out. And what makes this worse is that the radio edit is 4 minutes long. That's right, the original is 6 minutes and 30 seconds long. I cannot listen to this in the future, especially for 6 1/2 minutes.

Next up, we have Jax and Hardy on Zombieland. This does not sound like Victoria's Secret or Cinderella Snapped (If you're new here, I did not like Victoria's Secret but Cinderella Snapped was pretty good). The production isn't pop punk but rather some interesting country shuffle. They both sound good and have solid chemistry, and the lyrics are happier than her last two songs. Solid song.

Up next, we have my recommendation from last week. So I think we remember One Thing Right by Marshmello and Kane Brown from 2019. I quite liked that song, and today, they collaborated again on Miles On It, and I like this more than One Thing Right. Marshmello's production is extremely fun and Kane Brown sounds quite good here. Also, the truck references made here are interesting. Catchy banger.

Camila Cabello has a new album later this year called C XOXO, and the latest single from it is He Knows with Lil Nas X. This is an interesting collab and interesting song. The production is super fun and they both sound quite good Hopefully, this does better than any previous 2024 songs from them.

The Chainsmokers put out a new EP yesterday, and Friday got switched out for No Shade At Pitti, not featuring anyone. I haven't listened to the EP yet, but this might be my favorite song from it and among their best songs, and probably would have gotten the purple treatment if Miles On It did not debut. They did a great job producing like they always do, and Drew Taggart sounds quite good. Not to mention this is in Bb major, so that's a bonus. Truly amazing TCS song.

Lastly, doing what they did with the deluxe version of Doja Cat's album Scarlet, Apple Juice by Teddy Swims got replaced by the actual single from I've Tried Everything But Therapy, Hammer To The Heart. This is also pretty good, but I prefer Apple Juice. This has cool production, and Teddy Swims once again sounds pretty good. Such a great song.

We lost Apple Juice and Friday, as previously mentioned, as well as For Life, Nobody, Scared To Start, Potential, and Risk. Apple Juice was replaced by a slight downgrade, but Friday was replaced by a significant upgrade. I wish For Life was given a chance to debut, and I'm fine with the others leaving. It's worth mentioning that Risk is in the abyss, so this could debut next week.

Blurbs:
Our exits were Texas Hold Em and A Symptom Of Being Human. Texas Hold Em was getting pretty old, so I'm fine with that leaving. A Symptom Of Being Human, meanwhile, suddenly flopped right as it looked like it was about to be treated as a proper Shinedown comeback single, and it will be missed.

I Can Do It With A Broken Heart jumped off its debut because of course it did.

Good to see Made For Me in the top 20.

Looks like Me Myself & Your Eyes might be on its way out. It's been lacking in airplay lately, so no major surprise.

Hahaha. Fortnight dropped a couple spots. Keep dropping.

Illusion is now in the top 10. Cool.

Obsessed made its way back to the top 5. Hopefully it stays there next week.

Beautiful Things dropped to #5, and our new #1, just as I was hoping for, is Too Sweet by Hozier. A bit surprising, since Take Me To Church peaked at #4 according to Zestpond, Someone New wasn't as successful, and Tell It To My Heart never even made Hits 1. However, I will happily take Hozier hitting #1 in 2024 because this song is quite good. I'm not worried about this getting dethroned by Fortnight yet, but hopefully, We Can't Be Friends of Obsessed make it there before Fortnight does.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
