Recommendations For Hits 1:
Myles Smith- Wait For You
Frank Walker/ Stephen Puth- Waiting
Diplo/ Mau P/ Gunna- Receipts

Our first debut comes from Khalid, this is called Heatstroke. This is honestly pretty cool. It has a decent indie vibe that works quite well, and Khalid sounds great here per usual. Great song.

Although Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars have been around since the late 2000s/ early 2010s, they have not collaborated until yesterday, and Die With A Smile is a pretty good song. It's a bit slow, reminiscent of the Silk Sonic songs that aren't Skate, but the song being in A Major and having great melodies is what makes this for good. So I shouldn't like this. But I do, and I'm cool with that.

Lastly, Stargazing by Myles Smith re-entered. Great to see it back.

Hitbound:
Jessie Murph/ Teddy Swims- Dirty
Sabrina Carpenter- Taste (Debut)
Kesha- Joyride
Beabadoobee- Beaches
Coldplay/ Burna Boy/ Little Simz/ Elyanna/ Tini- We Pray (Debut)
All Time Low- Dear Maria Count Me In (ATL's Version)
Jimin- Who (Debut)
Maren Morris- Push Me Over
Andy Grammer/ Maddie & Tae- I Do
Halesy- Lonely Is The Muse
Benson Boone- Pretty Slowly
Katy Perry- Lifetimes
Dasha- Didn't I
Henry Moodie- Right Person Wrong Time
Koe Wetzel/ Jessie Murph- High Road (Debut)
Tinashe- Nasty (Debut)

Oh boy. We start off by talking about a new track from Sabrina Carpenter's new album Short & Sweet, well, at least it is the actual single, Taste. This is actually pretty good, better than both Espresso and especially Please Please Please. It has a solid beat and she sounds good. So so far so good, but if they overrate this, we'll have huge ass problems. Also, I hope the top 10 of the hot 100 in a couple weeks is not just Short N Sweet tracks.

Up next, well, we have this. It's a collab that looks insanely ridiculous on paper, but works surprisingly well. Anyways, Coldplay teamed up with Burna Boy, Little Simz, Elyanna, and Tini, the last three making their Hits 1 debuts (except I've previously heard of Tini from a couple songs of hers that I've heard in High School Spanish class), on We Pray. And this is pretty good. Everyone singing sounds pretty good and it has solid production. So this should not work, but it somehow does.

Next up, we have Jimin from BTS with another solo song, this is called Who. I last talked about Jimin when he had Angel Part 1, which made the #3 spot on my 2023 best list, although that decision did not age well because of Kodak Black doing that pro Trump song Onboa47rd with Fivio Foreign a couple weeks ago. On to this new Jimin song, I like this quite a bit. The beat is solid and Jimin sounds quite good, this actually reminds me of another song by a solo BTS member, 3D by Jungkook and Jack Harlow from last year.

On the topic of artists that had a song on my 2023 best list but the decision did not age well due to Kodak Black also being on it, Koe Wetzel brings his second appearance to Hits 1, and it's a collab with Jessie Murph of all people called High Road. They're a bit late picking up on this as it was released the same day as 2 The Moon by Pitbull, Ne Yo, and Afrojack. And I think we know who really won. Except this isn't all that bad. Koe Wetzel still sounds a little bit like Billy Ray Cyrus, and this feels a little bit slow but has an alright beat. So surprisingly solid song.

This last song has also been out for a decent bit, it's Nasty by Tinashe. I previously heard this on Daniel's Hits Of The Future show, and it is pretty good. Tinashe sounds quite good and the beat here is a bit cool. I'm glad this eventually made it on.

We lost Nobody's Soldier, What Don't Belong To Me, For Crying Out Loud, and Scumbag. Nobody's Soldier is in the abyss, and What Don't Belong To Me should have debuted. The last two, I can perfectly live without.

Blurbs:
Our exits were Lucky, Hotel Party, and Treadmill. I can live without Lucky, but the other two definitely should've lasted a bit longer and maybe even peaked a bit higher.

Of course Why Why Why jumped off its debut. Do we really need this?

And of course Million Dollar Baby fell out of the top 20. Again.

How is Risk still here? It has only a little bit of airplay.

Yeah, maybe we don't need Belong Together on here.

A Bar Song has dropped to #5. I'm just happy it hit #1 at all.

Please Please Please came dangerously close to dethroning A Bar Song, rising to #2. I swear to god, this better get blocked or else we will have problems.

As for now, our new #1 is I Had Some Help. Yes!! I think this deserved to hit #1 and I don't fucking care what Waffle says about that. This is only Post Malone's second #1 on here after Circles in 2020, and it's Morgan Wallen's first. I think it's interesting that he hit #1 on here after he went #1 multiple times on the hot 100. I hope this blocks Please Please Please inthe coming weeks.

I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
