First up, we have Morgan Wallen's latest, Love Somebody. And just like every other song of his I've heard, I like this one. It has a different type of beat that what he usually does, and it works. He also sounds pretty good here per usual. Great song.
Our other debut this week is APT by Rose' from Blackpink and Bruno Mars. I think this is pretty interesting. The beat here is cool and they both sound pretty good. Fun song.

Jawsh 685/ Jason Derulo- Make Me Happy (Debut)
Jawsh 685/ Jason Derulo- Make Me Happy (Debut)

Akon- Akon's Beautiful Day (Debut)
Lawrence- Whatcha Want
Gracie Abrams- That's So True
Jennie- Mantra
Gigi Perez- Sailor Song
Knox- Invisible
Damiano David- Born With A Broken Heart (Debut)
Dasha- Bye Bye Bye
Myles Smith- Wait For You
Balu Brigada- So Cold
Hayse Warner- Zip
Jelly Roll/ Halsey- Take A Bow
It seems as though we have been getting a decent bit of sequel collabs, such as Miles On It by Marshmello and Kane Brown and 2 The Moon by Pitbull, Ne Yo, and Afrojack, among others. Now Jawsh 685 and Jason Derulo have collaborated again after Savage Love in 2020, this is called Make Me Happy. And to be completely honest, I prefer Savage Love over this, I'm just not wowed by this new song. The beat from Jawsh 685 is alright and Jason Derulo sounds fine, I wish this were in a different key, that way it would have worked better. So alright, but should have been better.
Yesterday, Halsey dropped The Great Impersonator, and from it, we have Panic Attack. This is solid. It has a good beat and Halsey sounds pretty good. I'd put this on the upper tier in terms of songs from the album that I've heard. I still haven't been wowed by anything from this though.
Up next, we have a pretty anticipated song from Lady Gaga called Disease. This goes hard, it kind of reminds me of Alejandro from 2010 in terms of the beat. Also, Lady Gaga sounds quite good here per usual. So yeah, definitely a step up over Die With A Smile.
It's been a hot minute since Akon was last on Hits 1, his last appearance on Hits 1 was Who Dat Girl in 2011 (that's right, they did not pick up on Play Hard with David Guetta and Ne Yo in 2013), and I last heard from him last year when he did She Knows with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, David Guetta, and Afro Bros. Today, he brings us Akon's Beautiful Day. And yes, I like this quite like this. I've always liked Akon's voice, and he sounds good here too, the song is in Bb major, and the production is cool. Great return for Akon, I hope this makes it on to the countdown.
Our last debut is another solo song from Damiano David from Maneskin after that goddamn disaster that was Silverlines. This is called Born With A Broken Heart, and this is thankfully a lot better than that song. The beat is good and Damiano David sounds good, my issue is, of course, the key change at the end of the song. But this key change is tolerable compared to that of Diet Pepsi. So great song, Damiano David.
We lost Spot A Fake, Lights Camera Action, and Forever Young. I can live without Spot A Fake, but the other two deserved better, especially Forever Young.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Sympathy Is A Knife and Wildflower. Apparently, neither of these were actually singles, so I'm not exactly surprised they had no longevity.
Nooo why did We Pray drop seven spots? I hope this rebounds next week.
Heatstroke is in the top 15. Interesting to see.
Why is Austin still here? This can leave anytime soon, thank you very much.
Die With A Smile made into the top 5... ok then.
Stargazing made it back into the top 5, hopefully it stays there next week, or better yet, eventually hits #1.
And speaking of #1, we have a new one, Birds Of A Feather by Billie Eilish, this being Billie Eilish's second ever #1 on Hits 1 and first on the Weekend countdown. I'll honestly take this at #1 over Sabrina Carpenter being #1 for another week. It's definitely better than select Billie Eilish songs that have no beat to them. Although I'd definitely like to see Stargazing hit #1 in the near future though.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
