Computer problems suck, amirite? (Week of 6/7/2025)

First up, we have Cliche by MGK debuting. I've made it rather clear in the past that pop punk MGK is better than rap MGK (although Bad Things, At My Best, and Rap Devil all exist), and it seems like he is leaning more into pop punk for this song, so it goes without saying that I quite like this one, especially since it is a love song, and then MGK sounds quite good here per usual. Great song.
And then Not At This Party by Dasha re-entered randomly. I actually like this more than I previously did, so I don't think I'm complaining.
Hitbound:
Haven Madison- Castle (Debut)
Ed Sheeran/ Arijit Singh- Sapphire (Debut)
Jon Bellion/ Luke Combs- Why
Sabrina Carpenter- Manchild (Debut)
Addison Rae- Money Is Everything (Debut)
Benson Boone- Momma Song

Alex Warren/ Jelly Roll- Bloodline
Sienna Spiro- Dream Police
Crash Adams- New Heart (Debut)
Jessie Murph- Touch Me Like A Gangster (Debut)
Tyla- Bliss
Avril Lavigne/ Simple Plan- Young & Dumb
Joe Jonas- Heart By Heart
Super Hi/ Neeka- Following The Sun (Debut)
Alexander Stewart- Here Again (Debut)
Alexander Stewart- Here Again (Debut)
Fuck. We're starting this off with a rough one. I've heard a couple songs from Haven Madison before that were pretty good, but she has a new one on here called Castle, and... yeah, this is not good. It is really slow, almost reminds me of Dear Me by Kesha or Kaleidoscope by Chappell Roan, and I've said before that I don't like those songs despite liking the artists that wrote them. Haven Madison sounds fine, but that doesn't save the song at all. Monster or Obsessed should have been her first Hits 1 song.
It thankfully gets better, because next up, we have a new song from Ed Sheeran and Indian singer Arijit Singh called Sapphire. Ok, this is quite catchy. Ed Sheeran also sounds quite god as does Arijit Singh, even though he isn't on here for too long and I can't understand what the fuck he is saying, but it's cool. I'm honestly looking forward to this new Ed Sheeran album.
Ok, if you thought our first debut was bad... this next one is worst. Apparently, no one else is tired of Sabrina Carpenter, because we have yet another new song from her called Manchild. And this literally sounds like a carbon copy of Busy Woman, I literally see no differences between those two songs. So yeah, blatant rip-off of an already bad song, we don't need it. Next!
Addison Rae put out a new album recently, and from it, we have Money Is Everything. This is solid. She sounds good enough and I like the beat here, plus it has somewhat clever lyrics. All you really need to know here.
Hits 1 still doesn't know how to stop picking up on Crash Adams, but for now, I'm fine with that, especially when their songs are good, like this one, New Heart. I really like this one. It has a really fun beat and it has super clever lyrics for a breakup song, the singer is saying he needs a new heart because his ex broke his old one so bad. And he sounds good per usual. I'm glad I heard this.
Of course we have yet another new Jessie Murph song on here, this one is called Touch Me Like A Gangster. I'll give it this: It's better than Blue Strips, but not by a huge margin. The feel of this makes more sense and Jessie Murph sounds alright, I just wish I was more wowed here. That's all.
We're finishing off our list of debuts with two really good songs, this first one being Following The Sun by Super Hi and Neeka. Apparently, this is from 2021, but this is still really good. Super Hi's production is super cool and I like Neeka's vocals, I'll easily take this one.
Lastly, we have Alexander Stewart making his Hits 1 debut with Here Again. This is also really good. Alexander Stewart has a really good singing voice and while the beat takes a little bit to get going, it goes really well with his voice, and it's in Bb major, and I've made it clear before that that is an added bonus. Good song.
We lost Easy Lover, Leave Me Alone, Friend Of Mine, Tough Luck, Cool, Do Me Like That, and DoULoveMe. Easy Lover is in the abyss, and then the next four weren't worth caring about at all and the last two deserved to debut the countdown. Although in Do Me Like That's case, my post is out late enough for me to know that The Paradox has a new song on HB that (spoiler alert!) is actually better.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Toxic Till The End and The Giver. I'm glad Toxic Till The End got blocked and fell off relatively quickly, but I think The Giver should have stayed on for longer, even though it flopped everywhere else.

I don't think we wanted Nokia back at #30.
Nice to see What I Want jumping off the debut from last week.
I have more mixed feelings about Same Mouth jumping.
Messy is now in the top 20. Not really sure if this will last or not.
Looks like Bad Dreams may be on its way out for real this time.
Sports Car re-entered the top 10. Ok then.
Why is End Of The World in the top 5? I don't think it's on Mediabase anymore.
And that's pretty much it, I feel like we should have a shake up in the top 2 soon.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys hopefully shortly.
Well you're probably not going to like this but I listened to this weekend's countdown and Busy Woman somehow hit number 1 and Manchild Debuted all the way up at number 16. But believe me. I hate those 2 songs as well so I guess you might just have to be flexible for awhile since a lot of other people somehow like them.
