Recommendations for Hits 1: Regard/ Tayna- Piece Of Me and Galantis/ Peach Martine/ Secs On The Beach- Circles
Up first we have the title track from Maroon 5's new album Love Is Like and it features Lil Wayne. This is pretty good. It has a pretty fun beat and Adam Levine sounds pretty good, and I think Lil Wayne's verse goes well in this. Fun song.
I was not expecting this next song to debut after only one week in Hitbound, but obviously, I'm rather glad it did, this is No Broke Boys by Disco Lines and Tinashe. I've made it clear I like Tinashe EDM songs, and this is also quite good. Disco Lines did a great job producing and Tinashe sounds quite good here per usual. I'm glad this is becoming somewhat of a hit.
Lastly, Betty by AJR re-entered, actually five spots higher than its previous peak of #29. That gives me hope on how its second run will go.
Hitbound:
Thomas Day- She Got A Thing About Her
Doja Cat- Jealous Type (Debut)
Claire Rosinkranz- Dancer
Twenty One Pilots- Drum Show (Debut)
Sombr- I Wish I Knew How To Quit You (Debut)
Zara Larsson- Crush
Audrey Hobert- Thirst Trap
Dasha- Like It Like That (Debut)
Crash Adams- New Heart
MGK- Can't Stay Here
Conan Gray- Caramel
Russell Dickerson- Happen To Me
Alessi Rose- Dumb Girl
Maeve- We're Not Together
Marshmello/ Jelly Roll- Holy Water
Haven Madison- Castle
Our first new song comes from Doja Cat, this is called Jealous Type. This has got to be among her better songs. The 80s type beat is quite good and Doja Cat sounds pretty good over it. Yeah, I'd call this worth the wait.
Twenty One Pilots have their new album out soon, and we have a new song from it called Drum Show. Ok, this is really good. The beat on this is insane and Tyler Joseph sounds quite good here. By the way, I heard that this is the first Twenty One Pilots song with Josh Dun doing vocals as well, and he also sounds pretty good. Complete banger, I hope it is on the countdown.
Sombr just put out his new album, and from it, we have I Wish I Knew How To Quit You. Honestly, I feel like with the exception of 12 To 12, he is using the same formula for all of his songs, and that includes this. It's at a slower swing tempo, and although he sounds pretty good, this isn't in a key where I would revisit it soon. So I could listen to the album, but it's not all that likely.
And our last song is from Dasha, this is called Like It Like That. This is rather fun. The beat is pretty interesting and Dasha sounds pretty good, but this honestly doesn't feel like something I would ever revisit in the future. This could grow on me, but it isn't likely.
We lost Loved You Better and 12 To 12. Loved You Beter was ass, so I'm glad that's gone, and 12 To 12 was among the better Sombr songs, but still hasn't fully clicked for me yet.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Twilight Zone, Sorry I'm Here For Someone Else, and Sally When The Wine Runs Out. These all had great runs and were starting to get a bit old, so I'm fine with them leaving, even if I still like the last two.
Great to see A Little More jumping off the debut.
Also great to see The Subway getting a huge jump.
Sue Me has finally found its way into the top 10.
It would be appreciated if Same Mouth didn't enter the top 10.
After entering the top 10 last week, Golden just kept jumping. It would be interesting if this actually hit #1.
Undressed thankfully held over Manchild for the second week in a row, and that's always a good thing.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys next week.
