Our other debut comes from Ed Sheeran's album Play, this is called Camera. I kind of like this. It has a solid beat to it and Ed Sheeran sounds pretty good. And yes, I can actually see Justin Bieber singing this. I should also point out that this is supposed to be a power ballad, but it honestly doesn't feel like a ballad to me (well, maybe a little bit). That's all I need to say.

Our first debut comes from The Chainsmokers, this is called Smooth. This is yet another banger from them. The production is really fun here and Drew Taggart sounds quite good here per usual. Glad they are on Hits 1 again.
On the flip side, I'm not all that thrilled that Laufey is on Hits 1 again. I just don't get the appeal to her music, and that is how I feel about this new song, Lover Girl. This is a little bit better than Tough Luck, which has faded on me a decent bit since it left HB earlier this year, so that is not saying a whole lot. The production is a bit odd and doesn't go all that well with Laufey's voice, which still sounds a bit haunted imo. At least the song being upbeat and having decent enough melodies saves me from hating this as much as I should. Again, I still don't get the appeal to her, and I don't think I ever will.
We have a rather interesting collaboration up next, this is Miley Cyrus teaming up with Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood for Secrets. This is good enough. This has a pretty good beat and Miley Cyrus sounds pretty good, although I don't think either of the Fleetwood Mac guys have vocals here... did they just produce? I guess so. So yeah, this should have been a lot better, now I can definitely draw comparisons to One Of Me by Lil Nas X and Elton John from four years ago... I don't think I need to explain there.
Oh dear god... I was not asking Asse and Finneas to form a collaborative supergroup, yet they formed one anyway called The Favors and just dropped a new song called David's Brother. And yet... this is surprisingly pretty good. Finneas and Asse sound have better than normal and the song is upbeat and in a key that I usually like. So call me surprised, I think this is good, a lot better than I was expecting it to be.
Next up, we have Alexander Stewart and Lauren Spencer-Smith teaming up for Friends Don't. This is pretty bad. There is no production here except for a piano and then the strings come in later in the song. Alexander Stewart and Lauren Spencer-Smith sound good together when they sing the hook and bridge together, but that doesn't save the song at all. I hope this flops hard.
So after that trainwreck, I now get to talk about a new Madison Beer song called Yes Baby. This is solid. It's an EDM song, so it goes without saying this has a solid beat. Madison Beer also sounds pretty good here. Solid song.
She Got A Thing About Her by Thomas Day re-entered. Great to see it back.
So... of course Raye is back. Although this new song, Where Is My Husband, is pretty good, among her better songs. The beat is pretty fun and Raye sounds pretty good, plus, this seems like it is about her wanting to find someone to love. I'll definitely take this.
We're doing this again. Lewis Capaldi is going back to his roots with a new song Something In The Heavens. And if you thought Friends Don't was boring, this is somehow more boring. There is almost no production here and Lewis Capaldi doing a falsetto in the hook just doesn't work in the fucking slightest. Plus, the key this is in just doesn't do the song any favors. If this has any success on the countdown, I will have some words to say.
Well, I just have one more to talk about, a new song from People R Ugly called Wake Up. I can always count on these guys to make a banger, and that's what we have here. The beat is wild and Zak Dossi once again sounds pretty good, plus, this seems to be about how one feels after hooking up with a girl at a bar or party. I'm glad this is here.
We lost Caramel, White Knuckles, 12 To 12, Can't Stay Here, Boombayah, Talk To Me, ad New Heart. Caramel was just good, and while I liked the rest of them, the only two I wanted to see on the countdown were Talk To Me and New Heart.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Blue Strips and Revolving Door. Blue Strips sucked ass, so good riddance to that, and I'm fine with Revolving Door leaving.
Good seeing The Dead Dance jumping off the debut.
I feel like this is going to be Ordinary's last week.
Vodka Cranberry is still making upward movement.
Could Nice To Meet You just figure out what to do?
And that's pretty much it, the top 8 all held their spots from last week. We seriously need more movement in the top 8 soon, especially in the top 3, where for about a month now, it has been No Time To Talk at #3, Manchild at #2, and Undressed #1. We really need a shakeup soon.
I guess that does it for me this week, see you guys in my next post.
