#1 Recommendation For Hits 1: Sigala/ Leigh Anne/ Jonita- Hello
Our first debut comes from Tate McRae, this is called Tit For Tat. Really weird title. As for the song, it's actually a bit of a cool. The trap beat actually goes quite well with her voice and it has amazing melodies. Interesting style for her to choose here.
This next song is even better, it's 5 Seconds Of Summer's first song on here as a group in a hot minute, this is called Not Ok. Wow. This song is quite good. It gives off the vibes of a Twenty One Pilots song more than it gives off the vibes of a 5SOS song, but that's definitely a compliment, and Luke Hemmings sounds quite good here. Glad 5SOS are back.
And to cap off this list, we have Alessi Rose back on the countdown and they're naming her the One To Watch a bit too late due to the insane amount of songs they have picked up on from her before. This is called First Original Thought, and it's good enough. The beat is decent enough and Alessi Rose sounds pretty good here, there isn't really anything all that memorable about it. That's all.
Hitbound:
The Chainsmokers- Smooth
Taylor Swift- The Fate Of Ophelia (Debut)
Madison Beer- Yes Baby
Louis Tomlinson- Lemonade (Debut)
The Favors- David's Brother
Justin Bieber- Love Song
Emei- Talk Talk Talk (Debut)
Laufey- Lover Girl
People R Ugly- Wake Up
Doja Cat- Gorgeous
Demi Lovato- Here All Night
Twenty One Pilots- City Walls
Tyler The Creator- Sugar On My Tongue (Debut)
Lewis Capaldi- Something In The Heavens
Raye- Where Is My Husband
Alexander Stewart/ Lauren Spencer-Smith- Friends Don't
Great. Just fucking great. Of course we have another new Taylor Swift album, this one coming two months after the UC/ Nebraska football game at Arrowhead Stadium that she and Travis Kelce were in attendance of, and the UC band actually performed at that game, and Taylor Swift seemed to enjoy our performance. However, that doesn't mean I have to return the favor when reviewing this new song from the album called The Fate Of Ophelia. And yes, this is just what I have come to expect from her at this point, a bunch of generic shit that everyone is going to overrate the living shit out of for a shit long time. If this is going to go to #1, I would prefer it stays there for only one or two weeks.
This is huge. For the first time since Liam Payne's death last year, someone from One Direction has put out a song. In this case, it's Louis Tomlinson with his new song Lemonade. This is quite good. The beat here is quite groovy and Louis Tomlinson sounds quite good here per usual. Glad I heard this.
So of course I have to talk about a new Emei song, this one is called Talk Talk Talk. This is pretty good. It reminds me of Green Light by Lorde, and that is a good thing. It also reminds me of Last Night's Mascara by Griff, a HB dropout from last year that I quite liked. Also, Emei sounds pretty good. Yeah, solid song.
Lastly, Tyler The Creator had never appeared on Hits 1 until this song debuted, this is called Sugar On My Tongue. I don't listen to a whole lot of Tyler The Creator's music, but this is pretty cool. The production here is pretty cool, almost sounds EDM, and Tyler The Creator has solid flow here. Glad he is finally here.
We only lost Secrets. For what that collab was, I was pretty let down. So I'm fine with that leaving.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Survive, On My Mind, and All The Way. Survive was fading on me, so I'm fine with that leaving, and while I still like On My Mind, it's been here for a minute. And All The Way should have lasted a lot longer.
Great to see Vodka Cranberry rebounding.
It seems like What I Want might be on its way out.
I don't know if Daisies can decide what to do.
The Subway, is now at #7, I hope this can shake up the top 5 soon.
I guess that does it for me today, see you guys in my next post.
