So this time around, I simply forgot to do this until recently. Well, of course we have a new Jessie Murph song on here, because why not? This is called I'm Not There For You, and it's definitely better than select other songs of hers. It has a catchy beat and Jessie Murph sounds better than she usually does. So it's surprisingly tolerable for a Jessie Murph song.
Our other debut comes from Charlie Puth, who's back for the first time in a couple years with his new song Changes. This is pretty good. This has solid production and Charlie Puth sounds pretty good, and apparently, this is about him and his wife expecting their first child soon. Yeah, glad I heard this, glad he's back, and I hope this has a lot of success here.
Hitbound:
Alessi Rose- Get Around
Charli XCX- Chains Of Love (Debut)
Camryn Quinlan- Ex Box
5 Seconds Of Summer- Everyone's A Star (Debut)
Max/ Andy Grammer- The Thing I Love (Debut)
Tyler The Creator- Sugar On My Tongue
Jessie Murph- I Stay I Leave I Love I Lose (Debut)
Meghan Trainor- Still Don't Care (Debut)
In Color- Headlights
Jonas Brothers- Backwards
Lewis Capaldi- The Day That I Die (Debut)
Selena Gomez- In The Dark
Sienna Spiro- Die On This Hill
Katy Perry- Bandaids
Tame Impala- Dracula
Jackson Wang- Made Me A Man
This first new song is from a new Charli XCX era (finally, I feel like Brat was popular for too long), this is called Chains Of Love. This is pretty good. This makes a decent bit of sense and has a solid beat, and Charli XCX sounds pretty good. Hopefully, Wuthering Heights is not as overrated as Brat was.
5 Seconds Of Summer released Everyone's A Star, and we now have the title track debuting Hitbound. This is also pretty good, though not as good as something like Not Ok or Telephone Busy. It has a fun beat and Luke Hemmings once again sounds pretty good here. I would have to call this new era of theirs among their better ones.
This is a rather interesting collab, it's from Max and Andy Grammer called The Thing I Love. I really like this one. This seems to be towards their significant others and it's in Bb major and has a solid beat, and both Max and Andy Grammer sound pretty good together. I'm happy these two artists decided to collab, because this works.
Well, of course we had to add a new Jessie Murph song, and according to Ethan, this is her 17th song on here, and she now has more Hits 1 songs than Coldplay, Imagine Dragons, Harry Styles, Adele, Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, and Ellie Goulding, among others. Although unlike the majority of the artists I just listed, Jessie Murph has never hit #1 on here before. Anyways, she's here with I Stay I Leave I Love I Lose (that's a mouthful to say). And unlike the song of hers that I talked about earlier, this is just decent at best. She sounds fine, the beat is decent enough, but the key doesn't exactly make the song great. Mikey Piff said Jessie Murph is taking somewhat of a break in 2026, and I hope that's true, because I need a break from talking about her.
Meghan Trainor has a new album coming out in April, and we have the lead single from it, Still Don't Care. This is pretty good. It's a message to all of the haters out there, and with the beat this has and key this is in, this works rather well. Plus, Meghan Trainor sounds pretty good here. Glad we have this on here.
Lastly, we have a new song from Lewis Capaldi called The Day That I Die (that doesn't sound like a convincing title). And yeah, it's a bit mediocre. As you might have guessed from that title, the lyrics are a bit sad but the beat evolves as the song goes on, and Lewis Capaldi sounds pretty good, so that saves the song from being outright bad. So better than I expected, but still some flaws in how it was written.
We lost Telephone Busy, Almost, Mature, Audrey Hepburn, and Home Bittersweet Home. The first two were replaced by other songs from the artists who wrote them, Mature was decent at best, and the last two deserved more success, and while we're at it, so did Telephone Busy.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Eyes Closed and Sue Me. I feel like Eyes Closed should have lasted a bit longer, and it was getting time for Sue Me to leave, as it had been here for a longish time.
Ok, good. Bittersweet rebounded, hopefully the upward movement continues.
I doubt we need Lover Girl starting to surge.
I'm also a bit surprised Bloodline is doing as well as it is given that it debuted long after dropping out of HB.
Mystical Magical and Undressed seem to be on the way out. Both lasted a fairly long time, so I can't complain there.
Glad to see Vodka Cranberry in the top 10.
Back To Friends is now at #3. It would be interesting to see this hit #1 and hopefully block The Fate Of Ophelia, which is still getting blocked by Golden.
I guess that does it for me today, see you guys in my next post.
