Why I decided to change my blogger name

 Ok, I think it's time we got this out of the way. As I first mentioned I would be doing a couple weeks ago, I have officially changed my blogger name from Hippo to SLOTHBEAR. But the real story goes back a lot longer than that. I took SLOTHBEAR as my DJ name during the summer of 2023, right around when my one year anniversary of blogging was, but continued blogging as Hippo, although the SLOTHBEAR name sort of found its way on to the server. And then my last two years of marching band, there was a Discord server for the UC sax section, which I was part of. Still, no one here knew me as Hippo except on here. 

Fast forward to the second half of 2025, of course, I was getting my posts out way too late, sometimes even after the next countdown ended. I was feeling a lack of motivation, with a decent bit of schoolwork to do plus marching band, I was considering taking some extended break from blogging but ultimately decided against that, and I eventually went with officially dropping the Hippo moniker and using my DJ name at the end of 2025 instead, I also changed my color coding like I do every new year, and I changed the font I use like I do every other new year, this is all to keep me from getting any blogger burnout. Also, now that I use my DJ name on here, I might be able to guest host Daniel's Hits Of The Future show if he needs me to. I could also revive the Social Square Top 30 countdown that lasted for three weeks in December, but that might not happen until after I graduate in late April/ early May. 

Now I'm sure a lot of people are wondering how much longer I will be blogging, because usually, when this type of post is seen, it usually means someone is announcing a break from blogging or flat out quitting entirely. Well, I'm definitely not going away any time soon. In fact, I don't plan on quitting until I turn 30, which is not for another 7 years, and then I plan on continuing until the following summer. So I'm here to stay for the time being.
