Recommendations For Hits 1: December 10th- Run My Way and Hardy/ Eric Church/ Morgan Wallen/ Tim McGraw- McArthur

First up, we have Silent Treatment by Freya Skye. This is pretty good. It has a pretty good beat to it and Freya Skye sounds pretty good. Also, the lyrics seem to be about getting ghosted (been there, done that). So yeah, solid song, unlike...

And of course, our other debut is the latest from Harry Styles, this is Aperture. Yeah, just like everything I've heard from the Fine Line and Harry's House eras, this is ass. First off, this is way too long for what it should be, the disco production starts off fine but gets repetitive as the song goes along, and there just isn't anything unique about this. If this is what dethrones The Fate Of Ophelia, I'll have some fucking words to say. Though thankfully, we might have at least one #1 in between those two songs...

Hitbound:
Charlie Puth- Beat Yourself Up
Olivia Dean- A Couple Minutes (Debut)
NMIXX- Blue Valentine
Noah Kahan- The Great Divide (Debut)
Ella Langley- Choosin Texas (Debut)
Louis Tomlinson- Imposter
Paul Russell- High Maintenance (Debut)
Jordi- Over Love (Debut)
Senses- Tiptoeing
Ice Spice- Big Guy (Debut)
Madison Beer- Bad Enough
PinkPantheress/ Zara Larsson- Stateside
Sienna Spiro- You Stole The Show (Re-entry)
Stella Lefty- Thinking Bout You
Megan Moroney- Wish I Didn't
MGK- Times Of My Life

So I'm late enough on this to know that Olivia Dean won best new artist at the Grammys, and now she has a new song on HB called A Couple Minutes. This isn't all that good. It's a bit too slow and while she sounds fine, the backing vocals are way too distracting and don't make the song all that friendly for pop radio. I don't know, she has improved since Nice To Each Other, but this ain't it.

Noah Kahan is back for the first time in a couple years, this is called The Great Divide. I want to like this more, since it has a solid beat to it and he sounds pretty good per usual. My main issue with this is that it's pretty long, it's over 5 minutes. However, I see this growing on me at some point in the future.

Well, it's about time we saw this on here. Ella Langley makes her first ever Hits 1 appearance with Choosin Texas, which is currently in the top 5 of the hot 100. This is quite good. Ella Langley sounds really good and it has a solid beat to it. Glad this is becoming as much of a hit as it is.

It's been a hot minute since we last heard from Paul Russell, but now he's back with High Maintenance. This is very fun. Ethan actually compared this to a cross between Say Cheese and Eat Pray Love, and I can definitely see that, and Paul Russell once again sounds pretty good. Glad to see him back.

Now on to Hits 1 plants that I'm not as glad to see back, Jordi now has Over Love. This is honestly not as bad as I was expecting it to be. This has a decent bit of a beat to it and Jordi sounds pretty good. So I'm currently fine with this being here.

There have been quite a few songs in 2026 that I should not like but I somehow do. We had Internet Girl by Katseye at the beginning of the year, and recently, we had that new Hardy/ Eric Church/ Morgan Wallen/ Tim McGraw song that I had as a recommendation this week. Another example of that is Big Guy by Ice Spice, which is from the new Spongebob movie. I saw some not so positive reviews on this, notably from Mark from Billboard Breakdown, but I actually quite like this one, although definitely not as much as I do Agua by Tainy and J Balvin from the 2020 Spongebob movie. This has some rather fun production and Ice Spice has a solid flow per usual, and all references to Spongebob make this feel like a soundtrack song from the right franchise. I can see why someone would hate this, but I personally don't.

Lastly, You Stole The Show by Sienna Spiro re-entered. This is completely uncalled for.

We lost Roommates, Girl Get Up, Such A Funny Way, Rather Be, Wall Of Sound, and Sweet Love. Roommates seems to be in the abyss, so let's hope it debuts sometime soon. As much as I liked Girl Get Up, I didn't see it doing a whole lot, and the rest I didn't care about. Although I am a bit surprised at Such A Funny Way dropped out, but the good news is we will finally have a week without any Sabrina Carpenter once Tears leaves.

Blurbs:
Our exits were The Big Goodbye and Gabriela. The Big Goodbye's second run was fun while it lasted, and it was getting time for Gabriela to leave long ago.

Ok why did Sapphire drop 5 spots off the re-entry?

Changes and So Unfair also dropped. I suspect these might leave soon, but I can never really tell.

Vodka Cranberry also sort of rebounded, but I don't see this lasting too much longer.

I Just Might jumped really huge to #2, which is just iconic. The Fate Of Ophelia is still #1, so if I Just Might can dethrone that soon, that would be a bit of a relief.

I guess that does it for me today, see you guys in my next post.
