My favorite Song Two Years Ago: Shaboozey- A Bar Song
Recommendations For Hits 1: Russell Dickerson/ Fetty Wap- Boots and Gryffin/ Avello/ Sasha Alex Sloan- Without You
Our first debut comes from Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter- this is called Bring Your Love. This is honestly quite good. The EDM production on this is rather groovy and both Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter sound really good on this. Yeah, such a good song.
Our other debut is something I recommended about a month ago, this is That's When You Know by Kygo and Carter Faith. This is also really good. Kygo's production on here gives major Avicii vibes (and speaking of Kygo making Avicii style songs, he recently previewed a song with Dan Tyminski (the vocalist on Avicii's song Hey Brother) and that gives off Avicii vibes more than this does), and Carter Faith sounds really good here. Glad this found its way on to the countdown.
Hitbound:
Noah Kahan- Doors
Charli XCX- Rock Music (Debut)
Shaboozey- Born To Die
Tiffany Stringer- Supernova (Debut)
Madison Beer- Lovergirl (Debut)
Alex Warren- Fine Place To Die
Stella Lefty- I Know I Know (Debut)
Myles Smith- Hold Me In The Dark (Debut)
Sienna Spiro- Material Lover
Halsey- Carry The Weight
Niall Horan- Little More Time
Bella Kay- Promise
Khalid/ Lauv- Tied Up (Debut)
Ella Langley- Be Her
Malcolm Todd- Earrings (Debut)
Maroon 5- Heroine
Our first debut comes from Charli XCX, this is called Rock Music. This is pretty cool. It lives up to its title in the most literal sense since the production is rock, and Charli XCX sounds pretty good over it. I think this is an interesting experiment for her.
Tiffany Stringer is also back with new music this week, this called Supernova. This is also pretty good. It feels less country than her other two HB dropouts and more alt, and that works pretty well for her, plus, she sounds pretty good here. Glad I heard this.
Madison Beer recently put out a deluxe version of her album Locket, and from it, we have Lovergirl (not to be confused with Laufey's song of a similar title). This is solid, though not exactly great. It has the same mysterious production style that Boyfriend by Dove Cameron and When Did You Get hot by Sabrina Carpenter both have, and I feel like this would have worked better if it were in the same key as those songs. Madison Beer sounds pretty good though, so I'll take this.
Stella Lefty also has new music this week, this is called I Know I Know. This one is also solid. It has an interesting but rather generic beat and Stella Lefty sounds pretty good on it. So yeah, this could definitely grow on me in a few weeks.
Myles Smith's new album drops next month, and we have a new song from it called Hold Me In The Dark. This is yet another great song from him. He once again sounds really good here and the beat on this is more in the solid side. Super great song.
Next up, we have a collab that I feel like could have happened before, this is Tied Up by Khalid and Lauv. This is solid, but I don't think it's fully clicked on me yet. Both of them sound really good and I like the production here, this just seems a bit forgettable. It definitely has the tendency to grow on me though.
For our last debut, we have a song from Malcolm Todd, and if you remember Audrey Hobert from Sue Me and a few other songs she had last year, Malcolm Todd is her younger brother. Anyways, this song, Earrings, is originally from 2024, but is going viral as of recently, and it's now on Hitbound. I've been seeing some not so great reviews on this, but I kinda dig this. It has a groovy beat and Malcolm Todd sounds rather good here. I'll take this being a sleeper hit.
We lost Stay Love, Kiss Me Better, Pinky Up, Shimmer, Cup of Tea, and Pieces, I'm fine with all of these dropping out, although it would have been fun to see Pinky Up on the countdown.
Blurbs:
Our exits were Mr Know It All and Opalite. I felt like Mr Know It All would last multiple weeks but I'm not too upset about it being gone, and good riddance to Opalite, it lasted way too long for what it was.
Good to see Sexy For Me rebounding slightly.
RIP to Swim's time in the top 20.
Drop Dead is starting to jump huge. Expect this to go top 10 next week.
Choosin Texas sort of jumped huge out of nowhere.
The Great Divide also jumped huge, rebounding after taking a bit of a hit last week.
Why is I Just Might back at #2? I feel like it should be on its way out rn.
I guess that does it for me in this post, see you guys in the next one.
