The Taylor Stanning got more out of control than ever (Week of 10/24*/2026)

Hello everyone welcome to... a historic first in Weekend Countdown history, and not in a good way. This countdown was delayed by one day because to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Taylor Swift's self titled debut album, Hits 1 thought it was a good idea to play 13 consecutive hours of Taylor Swift songs. Tbh, Taylor Swift's self titled debut album is by far her least overrated album, but she did get more overrated after that, and this is by far the most cringe way to commemorate 20 years of that album. I mean, you guys could have easily let her guest host the countdown, especially now that Spyder Harrison has retired. The good news, however, is that she didn't have the #1 song this week, with either I Knew It I Knew You or Patient Zero. No more delay, let's get into it, here are our exits:

Malcolm Todd- Earrings (#21 last week)
Slayyyter- Brand New Chanel$ (#22 last week)
Olivia Rodrigo- The Cure (#10 last week)

Part of why the countdown was worth the 24 hour delay is our three debuts, especially this first one, Flower In A Hurricane by Justice, Tame Impala, Sza, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, the latter of whom apparently only had writing credits. Doesn't matter though because the song is still a banger. We had legendary production from Justice and Tame Impala on this, I especially like the guitar riff from Tame Impala, and both he and Sza sound really good here. I hope this lasts a decent bit of time.

Next up, we have the only debut that I don't think will make my best list in a couple months, Housewife by Tate McRae. That said, the song is still really good. I like the beat this has and Tate McRae sounds pretty good per usual. I'll take this.

For our last debut, we have the first remix that Olivia Rodrigo has ever done and the first song Chappell Roan has featured on, this is Expectations. I really like this one. Both of them sound really good here and I really like the beat this has, it sounds like something that could easily be on ZZ Top's albums Eliminator or Afterburner. I also like the lyrics. They are both talking about what they are looking for in a relationship. I hope this song is a hit.

Hitbound:
Andy Grammer- Don't Want To Fall In Love
Stella Lefty/ Bailey Zimmerman- My Kinda Love (Debut)
Ax And The Hatchetmen- Hotel Room
Maisie Peters- Hands On Me (Debut)
Lisa- Tarantino (Debut)
Slayyyter- I Think He's Got A Girl
The Chainsmokers- Baby
John Mayer- Tom And Jerry (Debut)
Monic/ Gone Astray- Meant To Be
Asse- Lasso The Moon
JYT- I Wanted You
Alessi Rose- Fun
Remi Wolf- Champagne
Knox- Sad Song
Malcolm Todd- Obsessica
Holly Humberstone- Too Cute To Be Lonely

First up, we have the two debuts from the new season of Nobody Wants This (the same show that spawned In The Dark by Selena Gomez last year), first up is My Kinda Love by Stella Lefty and Bailey Zimmerman. I actually like this one a little bit. It's a little bit on the slower side but the beat is still solid, and both Stella Lefty and Bailey Zimmerman sound really good here, especially when they sing the hook together. I'll take this one.

The other Nobody Wants This song on here this week is Hands On Me by Maisie Peters. This one is also really good. I like the production this has, it's almost pop punk, and Maisie Peters sounds really good over it. I may need to check the rest of the soundtrack out.

Next up, we have new music from Lisa, this is called Tarantino. This is super fun. It has a cool almost dubstep beat that Lisa of sounds pretty good over. Fun song.

Lastly, we have the official return of John Mayer after 16 years, he last appeared on Hits 1 back in 2010 with Half Of My Heart with Taylor Swift, although I talked about Drive by Ed Sheeran last year, which he played guitar on. Anyways, he is now back with Tom And Jerry. Well, I'd say it was worth the wait, because this is really good. Mikey Piff said this sounds like his (John Mayer's) first two albums, and I can sort of see that. It has a solid beat and John Mayer still sounds really good. Solid return.

We only lost Perfect Man. Good fucking riddance.

Blurbs:
Our exits were Earrings, Brand New Chanel$, and The Cure. Earrings was definitely fading on me, and I was never completely sold on Brand New Chanel$. So I'm fine with those leaving. Lastly, The Cure had a great run, including going #1. And since we had great debuts, this is entirely a W.

I don't think Petal will last much longer.

I'm relieved New Trickis finally doing something.

Ummm... why did Dance With me jump huge?

At least Stop The Wedding is also in the top 20.

Good to see Loser in the top 10.

At least I Knew It I Knew You might be starting to make its way out.

Bass Persuades is now in the top 5, so I'd like to see this become Miley Cyrus's first good #1 soon.

I guess that does it for me in this post, see you guys in the next one.
