My Top 10 worst songs of 2022

 Hello everyone, today I will be going over my 10 least favorite songs of 2022. This is my first year end post this year, I usually like pop music, but there are always those songs I don't like. There is no criteria, but usually, it will be ballads, Harry Styles songs, or Taylor Swift songs. This list had some standout songs, there are 1 or two songs on here you might not know I hate, but that's because I started blogging in May, but you are familiar with most of my opinions. Let's get started.

10. Harry Styles- Music For A Sushi Restaurant

Starting with the first of three songs from Harry's Hellhouse, Music For A Sushi Restaurant. I would have ranked this higher, but this could get blocked from hitting #1. As for the song, it's another overrated Harry Styles song that would be better sung by someone else.

9. Charlotte Sands- Dress

This song would be fine. I actually thought it was fine until I found out on the discord that it was about none other than Harry Fucking Styles himself. That just ruins the whole song for me by a mile. Apparently, it was also a song from 2020 that got Tiktok popularity this year. Yay...

8. Halsey- So Boring

I usually like Halsey's music, but this was never for me. The whole song is super weird and the bridge makes no sense whatsoever. This should have never been a huge hit.

7. Jax- Victoria's Secret

Just not my thing, not that I liked Jax's other two songs on Hits 1, well, I guess they were both low blue to high pink in my opinion, but they were definitely not as bad as this. It's in a key I tend not to like songs in, and the writing is just not my thing, and I'm not sure why she had to go for the pop punk vibe on this but it does not go well with the song. I hope this is the last I hear from Jax for a while.

6. Labrinth/ Zendaya- I'm Tired

Jesus, where the fuck do I start with this bullshit? This lives up to its title too much, and unlike with Simply The Best by the Black Eyed Peas, Anitta, and El Alfa, that's not a good thing. Yeah, I'm not sure who produced this, if anyone, since this has almost no production. Additionally, Labrinth sounds a bit too haunting and this feels like it is in no key at all. I ended up skipping through this listening to the countdown after the first time I heard it. I think Zendaya needs to stick to starring in the MCU as MJ from Spider Man instead of doing boring ass songs like this.

5. Harry Styles- Late Night Toppling

So this is the second of three songs off Harry's Hellhouse that will be on this list. This would be completely fine if it were by someone else, like Dnce or Years & Years. It has cool production and it's in my happy key of Bb major. But since it's Harry Styles, it's not good and super annoying. I was super happy when this fell 14 spots from #1.

4. Leah Kate- 10 Things I Hate About You

So OG viewers know I hate this a lot. I enjoy pop punk, but this is not for me. It's that chorus that bothers me the most. I know what the title is, but she doesn't have to count down every single thing she hates about her ex THREE FUCKING TIMES. We get it. You hate your ex. Then the verses have nothing to do with the chorus at all. Literally any of the four follow ups Hits 1 picked up on, especially Twinkle Twinkle Little Bitch, deserved to be her 1TW song instead.

3. Kate Bush- Running Up That Hill

If you were viewing my blog in July 2022, you might remember when I ranted hard on this THIRTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD song debuting at #16 on the countdown. Yeah, and my opinion still stands on this: It's way too old to even be on here under any circumstances, and this sounds like something coming out of a Disney Princess movie, and I don't mean that as a compliment. Fuck the Stranger Things music department for adding this to the soundtrack and unintentionally having it become huge 37 years after its release. Now I'm never watching Stranger Things ever in my life over this song.

2. Joji- Glimpse Of Us

Again, this song is boring as hell, even though there was a little bit more production here than in I'm Tired and I'm able to tell the key that this song is in. But that's where my compliments end. The whole song sounds like it belongs in a church, and the production is still super empty. I hope he makes more upbeat music in 2023.

All right, before I reveal my worst song of 2022, I'm going to list some dishonorable mentions:

Lauren Spencer-Smith- Flowers

This was worse than Fingers Crossed, which I did not mind at all. It's super slow for me.

Rosa Linn- Snap

This was way too weird for me and the chorus does not go with the production.

Jena Rose- Checkmate

Again, too weird and it stayed on HB for way too long

Acraze/ Cherish- Do It To It

What the hell was this weird EDM song? It was way too repetitive for me. Believe with Goodboys is so much better.

Panic At The Disco- Viva Las Vengeance

Really bad return for Panic At The Disco due to the annoying ass key changes.

5 Seconds Of Summer- Complete Mess

Probably 5sos's worst song, it's super slow and annoying.

Taylor Swift- Anti Hero

This is only in the dishonorable mentions because I ran out of room on the main list. Do I need to explain anything about this super overrated piece of shit at this point? No.

And so my worst song of 2022 is...

1. Harry Styles- Ass It Was

Yeah, I think everyone could have seen this one coming. Easily the most overrated song from Harry Styles that exists. It hit #1 on both Hits 1 and everywhere else for way too fucking long. I would easily be better off never hearing this ever again. I envisioned this one at the top of my worst list ever since I started blogging.
